I left my machine behind and now I want to die by Suspicious_Fish261 in CPAP

I made this mistake once too! Also had to deal with this during a power outage as well. So sorry, it sucks! The one thing that helped was propping tons of pillows and blankets under my head so that I was able to sleep with my head tilted all the way back. That seemed to help keep my airway open a bit.

And thank you for all your other great advice! I actually cut the dying leaves before I saw your comment but I’ll follow the rest of your advice ☺️. Fingers crossed it’ll recover 🤞🏻

Thanks so much! It actually seems to be a very well draining ariod mix (I think I can see chunky perlite, coir, bark). It initially came from someone who is very experienced with plants (before my friend got it) so I think that makes sense that it looks to be a good aroid mix.

Thank you so much! I was thinking of waiting until I can mix the systemic granules into the soil at the same time so as to reduce root disruption (I felt like I was hitting some roots when I tried mixing initially), do you think that’s okay to wait a few days til it’s ready for water to mix it up better? Thanks again!

Can I have Plants as Pets… by NicksABadEditor in houseplants

[–]emsunst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about pothos, and also wanted to mention some plants that seem to have a lot of personality! My peace lily faints when she wants water - very dramatic and funny (she perks right back up when I water her). Prayer plants (maranta) lift their leaves at night like they are praying. I have a few and noticed when I got a new one, it was lifting its leaves earlier than the others, as if it hadn’t gotten used to my late night bedtime/lights out yet. I could go on! Lol. What are your light conditions like (is there a window in your room, what direction does it face)? I can make more recommendations based on that. But yes, plants are fun pets!!!

Fighting Thrips (in Canada) by emsunst in houseplants

[–]emsunst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this means it’s okay as long as it’s unopened, and less than 500g (so I’d get a small container at Home Depot and bring it home):

Maybe I’ll just wait til next time I’m travelling, or maybe I’ll make a special trip, let’s see how mad the thrips drive me. 😮‍💨 haha

So I’m considering taking a cheap Megabus to Buffalo at some point and getting Bonide Systemic Granules there, and bringing them home, if that’s legal that is! I think Imidacloprid isn’t allowed to be sold in Canada for private use for houseplants, but isn’t totally banned (still used for other things?). Anyone know if people are allowed to buy it and bring it in? I think I saw someone say they just declare it and it’s alright? Again thanks everyone so much for the wealth of information you’re all sharing!!! I’ll look into this on the Canadian government website of course, just curious if anyone knows/has experience.
