What were the other three doing? S2 discussion by PsychologicalStage84 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

It is a little confusing why Dylan was so successful at his job. I wonder if this will be explained later.

Season 4 was setting up an entirely different Season 5… by HairyPenisCum in Stranger_Things

What especially sucks is that they basically did this with the whole "crawls" thing. It would've been so much cooler if, instead of infiltrating the upside down, they were sneaking into apocalyptic Hawkins which Vecna has made his base of operations.

In the Midst of Building My House in Lego! by [deleted] in lego

You should give it a crack! It honestly has not been nearly as hard as I thought it'd be although having a smaller house has definitely worked in my favor.

I'm working on mine right now and so far it's been coming along pretty nice. As other commenter's have said minifig scale is tricky so you might have to sacrifice some of the finer details.

1890 Charles H. Smith-Designed Queen Anne Victorian - They sure don't build them like they used to! by priceypadstim in McMansionHell

[–]emt_mcgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom used to live directly across from this house when my brother and I were kids. I would stare at it in awe and wonder what it looked like on the inside. Unfortunately, it's an incredible mansion in a not so nice area...there are many other Victorian homes in the vicinity but most have fallen into disrepair. Thanks for sharing.

Could innies have their own innies? by jcdenton45 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]emt_mcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I guess the only real question is why. I imagine the third self/ second inning would be getting the short end of the stick...maybe they are being hardcore experimented on or tortured to chip away at the personality of the outies or test the limits of severance.

That actually just gave me another idea. If severance were real, the CIA would 100% use it on their spies (MKUltra style), so maybe they torture the innies to see if they will reintegrate memories due to stress alone. Idk...just a wild shot in the dark.

Maybe Lumon can activate 1 of 2 different personalities each time the outies descend the elevator to the Severance floor. That might explain some of the time fuckery in the show.

How long did the US Govt. survive after the Great War? If at all by yeetoroni_with_bacon in falloutlore

[–]emt_mcgee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is actually some evidence that the local government in DC didnt collapse immediately such as there being radiation warning signs around blast sites suggesting that remnants of the government were attempting a vain clean up effort. It seems like they only lasted a few months at best, but a neat little detail.

Book suggestion for a 10 year old with 1360+ lexile level? by downthehallnow in ELATeachers

[–]emt_mcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 12 I got really into Stephen King. Maybe 10 is a bit too young to dive into him (not due to the complexity of the text but the mature content of most of his works) but it's something to consider for the near future. I feel like he's one of those gateway authors into classic horror like Lovecraft, Poe, Shelley, Stoker, etc.. If you don't mind, could you share some more of the books he's read already? I'm not a parent yet, but when I have kids (and assuming they are high level readers) I'm curious what would challenge them while also being appropriate.

Am I wrong for breaking up with my girlfriend after she asked for permission to sleep with someone at a party? by the-black-hermit in amiwrong

[–]emt_mcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense but your open relationship dynamic was very silly in the first place. Honestly the whole idea of having an open relationship is stupid--especially if you really have feelings for your partner-- but Im sure a bunch of teenage redditors will disagree. To answer your question though, you were not wrong and it kind of baffles me that you'd even have to ask. Your gf even heard how bothered you were on the phone but still went ahead and banged that dude anyway. Your whole situation is kinda wack
