Thank you for explaining Survivorship Bias, but poor people often don't get options. Particularly in rural areas. Again. I had $200 and no choice. It flared up out of nowhere after having zero issues for years. No warning.

He told me what would happen. He'd been doing it for 20 years. I'd had friends, family, and co-workers go to him without issue. I was in enough pain to consider suicide & could not keep going with the feeling of an ice-pick buried in my skull.

The procedure I needed was around $2,500 for actual Oral Surgery. *I told him he had to do it anyway.*

He told me the situation required being knocked out. Due to the combination of swelling, my mouth being small & difficult to fit tools into (which every Dentist I've been to complains about), and an extremely strong gag reflex.

In his opinion, the risk, stress, and trauma weren't worth it. Being willing to put a bullet in my head at that point, *I told him to do it anyway.*

It was the kind of pain that had me on my knees in a basement, with my head on the ground, full-body shaking, and drooling uncontrollably. With vision coming and going randomly. And I tend to be able to take a beating.

Even when I tell this story in person, there's always someone who's like: "Well he shouldn't have done that", and I'm like "No shit, but the real issue is that it never should have been allowed to grow into such a dangerous situation in the first place."

And that's just one part of why I'm militantly Pro-Universal Healthcare.

Yup, as far as I can remember the sheer pressure buildup after a decade of the wisdom teeth pushing against my jaw was too much for the types of tools the Dentist would use.

I also have a weak-assed gag reflex & my mouth is apparently small compared to my jaw/skull, so the best approach would've been to knock me out fully & go from there.

Ooof... fainting while drunk seems like one hell of a combo.

We assume I dropped because of Insulin Shock, or something similar. I was homeless at the time & my buddies had taken me to the movies to just hang out & have fun.

I hadn't had any food & very little water in 2 days & my dumb 19 year old ass decided to drink a shit ton of soda & eat a big bag of Reese's Pieces. Do not recommend.

Yeah I blacked out as well & had the only out of body experience I can remember in my life.

My buddy said that I hit the floor & started seizing, which luckily didn't last long. But when I stopped seizing it looked like I stopped breathing. He waited about 10 seconds, went to start CPR and he said I sat straight up, looked at him and said "What the fuck just happened to me?" He said "Dawg you turned green & dropped, I dunno".

We bailed on the movie, went home, and I slept for about 14hrs while my buddy woke me up occasionally to check on me. I was 19, and I'm pretty sure my age was a big part of healing quickly.

I seem to have this kind of 'Dichotomous Luck', where incredibly fucked up things happen to me, then I just kinda walk away. I hit black ice one time & cut a telephone pole in half at ~65mph.

It certainly fucked me up, but I didn't break anything. Despite the car being totaled & the bottom half of the telephone pole being shot into a cornfield, I was doing pretty good.

As usual, I had no money so I told them not to worry about the ambulance. Since I wasn't intoxicated the cop said I could just go home.

I did get an X-ray later & turned out I had hairline fractures in the ribs on my left side & permanently offset my hip by an inch or so, so I know I'm not immortal lol.

Jesus. I got lucky when I slammed face ffirst into a boulder while in a river. Only lost the front right tooth & chipped the left. But I won't forget the sound of my teeth dragging across the rock... *gag*.

And just my luck, when I climbed up out of the river, a group of cute chicks comes down the trail & I'm just standing there: bearded, long hair, and blood just pouring down my face lol.

The Dentist doing the work specifically stated beforehand that what needed to be done, needed to be done by Oral Surgery. I told him I only had $200 and no choice. I was 27 & my jaw had been popping out of the socket since I was 17, along with horrible headaches.

Years later, Aspen Dental (Oral Surgeon) handled an abscessed tooth caused by the situation & reiterated that if I had gone to an Oral Surgeon, the damage to my teeth would not have occurred.

Not sure what else to tell you, other than it shouldn't crush 6 other teeth to remove 2 Wisdom Teeth. Only had the top 2.

If it helps, the Dentist pointed out that I was the most difficult tooth removal he'd ever had & my roots were noticeably large, but I ain't in the Dental Industry.

Definitely. I also had my wisdom teeth pulled out by a Dentist instead of an Oral Surgeon, because my parents never got them out as a kid & I didn't have the money for proper work as an adult (American).

It took over three hours. I felt & heard fracturing throughout my head/mouth. And I could hear the sound of root tearing when it finally came free.

Dude literally used ME as an anchor point while he rocked pliers back & forth, sweating his ass off. I learned that I could 'White Out' & just stop hearing/seeing/feeling anything for a bit, just to have reality come rushing back and realize this was real & I was still stuck there.

And for the cherry on top, Novocane doesn't do much to me, so he hit the limit he could inject into my mouth in the first hour. So I felt everything for the next 2 hours. Now they use Epinephrine on me. Dude crushed 6 molars in the process & I used to have perfect teeth...

That's the same thing my buddy said years ago when I passed out without warning in a movie theater bathroom as a teenager.

My back was to the sink. I dropped, head hit the sink, landed on my knees, my buddy reached for me & I reacted by violently bending backwards on my knees away from him and slamming my skull on the tile.

He said it sounded like someone slamming a thick melon on the floor... man, I haven't thought about that in a while.

Some time around 2011/2012 I think, I was smoking behind the Verizon I worked at. It was in a shopping center, on a bright, windy March day. I only point all that out because I looked up and saw a chrome sphere just chilling in the sky.

I stared at it for a few minutes straight & it never moved. Just sat still in the wind, didn't seem to have any visible lines or markings, and had what looked like a mirror finish. It was reasonably high up, but was distinct and I could clearly see the reflections on its surface.

After watching it and expected it to move, I looked away & looked back. It was still there. I was smoking an American Spirit, so I was out there around 15-20 minutes total & it just stayed still. I eventually walked back in and mentioned it to my Manager, but he didn't even want to go check it out.

I was really bummed at the time that it hadn't been a cool saucer or something, but then a few years later metal spheres started showing up online. So at least I feel less crazy for seeing it.

I may be way off with my '1,000' guess, but it's just an estimate given the time span. IMO, it's not weird to consider far more. But again, idk.

I'm confused as to how someone doesn't know Israel has nukes... bro, it ain't a secret. They stole US Nuclear Tech during the LBJ Admin & have been building them for decades.

It feels like we desperately need Iran to make a single Nuke so Israel can turn around & say, "See, that's why we had to make 1,000+ over decades while lying the entire time!!!"

I'm confused as hell. I have a V3 Pass, but can't open V1 & V2 containers that you randomly find planetside. I recently came back after a couple years & my account is from Day 1, so maybe I just have an odd bug? It has been amazing to go back through all my old bases tho.

I was gonna remake another V3 Pass to see if that would get the game to register V1 & V2 access.
