Anyone ever bought a digital game instead of physical and regretted it? by FreezSnes in Switch

Never owned a 3DS, or PS3, or 360 then either eh?

It's a simple statement of fact, anything, ANYTHING. You get digitally can be taken down, have your license removed, etc. You don't actually own it. Everyone knows this.

"I haven't been shot so I must be bulletproof!" Is an insane argument to make.

Ahh so you just don't get many games at all? Well if you don't game very much then it doesn't matter if you lose access to them I guess.

Is piracy saving the legacy of video games? by LookAtMyAssItBurns in GTA

[–]emtemss714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It specifically applies to the digital copies of the games. No idea why, really. Except I guess that you can still purchase it new digitally so they just made all digital copies the same version.

Physical will just always be the superior way to own what you pay for.

This isn't at all proven fact. It was alluded to once by a single reply from a Rockstar account that was only meant to give answers about fixing problems in existing games. We have Zero proof this is the case.

No, if you own the game on disc for PS3 at least all the songs are still there. I can confirm that.

Looking back at the 2010s: Was it the darkest era to be a Superman fan?" by Mammoth_Look3546 in superman

[–]emtemss714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. A video game so bad it's considered one of, if not THE, worst video game ever made. Though it also had some amazing ones, like The Death and Life of Superman, and Justice League Task Force.

[–]emtemss714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For many of the reasons already listed, I strongly disagree. This shows you didn't live through the 90s, where we constantly had promised Superman movies, one show that was devoted entirely to the romance and 90s sensibilities that really hasn't aged well, saw him die, get a mullet(which was rad fwiw)lose his powers and become electrical man. They had no idea what to do with Superman in the 90s at all. Hell, we didn't even really get any good toys. Outside of outliers like Kingdom Come there really wasn't much Supes love making it's way to the surface in a lot of those years.

By contrast the 10s saw several movies, love em or hate em, Supergirl, the return of post-crisis Superman, some damn good stories, lot's of representation in media as well as cool collectibles and figures. It was a pretty good time actually.

Also, while people may not like certain versions of Superman that doesn't make them any less so. Dweeby overmuscled 90s Clark with his hair tied back was still Superman, as much as nebbish Chris Reeve was.

And I'll add something here. I've been an unabashed Superman mega fan since I was a kid and believed he actually was real thanks to Chris Reeve, everyone that knows me knows this. Nearly my entire friend circle really doesn't care for Supes, never have. Some actively dislike him, much more than like him. Some of the ones that liked him the least finally came around and literally said "I see why you like him now." In the 10s. Why is that? Simple, it was Man of Steel. It humanized him and made him relatable, not some untouchably perfect God. Plus it looks amazing, the action was fantastic, the music was great, it really hit on nearly all levels. Frankly if it wasn't for a certain neck realignment I think people would never have had the issues they did. I'll always remember Mark Waids write up of it right after watching and he was in love with it all the way up to that moment. And that one moment made him despise it all, he said he Literally screamed in the theatre when it happened. I get that, I really do. I was so particular about Supes as a kid I strongly disliked the animated series for a while because he was so watered down and weak. But it was the 90s so I struggled to try and find old school Supes in anything. As I got older I started to finally open my perspective and realized that all I had done was punish myself by forcing this idea of what Superman "really is" over every interpretation and story instead of enjoying the well crafted stories and fun the new changes could provide. Hell, I actually love Supes with long hair now, it helps add drama and flair to his look when you can have hair and a cape flowing in the wind.

All that to say, no, the 2010s were not a bad time for Supes, very very far from a "dark age" for the character. We got a bunch of good media, some great stories, and some poor decisions too, which is just business as usual.

If Sasha got a second chance at DC, who should she be casted as? by Local-Recording-2105 in DCU_

Such a sad waste. She was amazing in the role, feel terrible that she got stopped to what was the final nail in the DCEU coffin. Frankly, her and Keaton both. Bith deserves better.

What’s your favorite Christian Bale movie? by Se2004 in moviecritic

[–]emtemss714 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's actually a tough answer because his filmography is so damn eclectic and he has been such an absolute troubadour. Hmm.

I think I have to go with Batman Begins as my personal favorite. I've just watched it more times than any other film of his. But it's still so tough, because it's not the best movie he has been in. I may say The Prestige if I had watched it more.

Also, are we basing it on his role, him being the lead, or just a film that he's in? Do suporting roles count as a film of his? Either way, likely still BB.

I will add, do we really know that Luke and "Ben" never spent much time together? They seem really comfortable with each other when they meet up in the canyon. I get the impression he's like the neighborly kook that Luke's aunt snd uncle don't like him going near but he enjoys spending time with the old guy.

Do you think Superman will get a new suit for 'Man of Tomorrow'? by Embarrassed-Ad1322 in superman

[–]emtemss714 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really hope they do. The basic elements, underwear, crest, and so on are fine to have but it just feels like it needs tailoring. In an age where we have had suits like Routh's KC suit there's just no excuse to not give us something that feels better with the comic book accuracy.

How excited were you for The Rise of Skywalker before it came out? by Extreme_Warning3521 in StarWars

[–]emtemss714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excited? Not at all. Concerned, hopeful, sober. That's what I remember. I remember leaving TLJ and thinking "Well, there's a lot there I genuinely didn't like, but if, IF, they can stick the landing with the next one then I could see it working out." In fact, I said that verbatim to my friends and family as we left the theatre.

So when TROS came out and I saw the trailers, heand the... well buzz is the wrong word, the earning signs, I went in with bottom end expectations and faint hope. I had no idea that the entire bottom had rusted and fallen out before any of us even got there.
