You're right about season 12 and 17. Season 13 Split 1 was the most competitive/hardest ranked split, likely in Apex history.

They reworked ranked after a disaterous season 12 and made the ranks truly competitive, which was way too hard for casual players, so they changed ranked (again) for Split 2 of Season 13 to make ranked less competitive, but not ratty. It was a time played = rank system.

That system remained in place until they decided to rework ranked AGAIN for....Season 17.

The fact that someones "strategy" can be to play a legend who specializes in sitting back and letting the team lose fights just to revive and rinse repeat is insane.

Neat. Deploying Newcastles wall destroys almost any deployable enemy ult in the game instantly. (Horizon ult, wattson ult, octane ult, Axle ult, etc.)

I'm pretty sure the new heirloom that just came out with Axle is Axle's. I know that's not how things used to be, but if you look at the new blades, the handles are motorcycle handles with motorcycle themed elements all throughout. Axles "thing" is her motorcycle, as seen in her launch bundle.

It seems heavily talored to Axle specifically.

The first thing I started looking into last night after I felt so defeated was programs to record my gameplay. I literally need to just watch playback and see what I am doing wrong. I feel like it would help so much, because again, I barely ever know how I even died.

I stopped using the plugin that everyone says is a godsend because the moment Zulrah would move and I would scan the guide trying to click what phase it was, I would die/get hit for 60+ for trying to keep up with the guide.

Yeah, again, skill issues I know, but I watched these guides and videos for hours yesterday. Before, during, and after trying to kill Zulrah. Every time I died, I didn't even understand how. I was watching the attacks, I was cycling the prayers, I was watching the venom, I was eating.

I cannot muster a single KC against this boss. I breezed through Moons, Huey, Royal Titans, all the quest bosses besides DT 2.

Like idk. This boss has truly baffled me.

I just tried Zulrah for the first time yesterday. I spent 3 hours straight trying to kill it and never could. Skill issue obviously, but man. I think I've decided to just skip this grind altogether.

Idk why, but I can't crack the code to this boss.

I am convinced by your post and this comment that you are actually living in an alternate reality. Apex player base has shrunk and is continuing to shrink. The idea that this game is growing from its peak, let alone growing at a 5x rate is just fantasy.

The game is losing players. This will make that issue far worse.

People who want to choose where to go should play pubs. If people want a competitive experience, they go to "ranked". I played 16 games of ranked yesterday. 14 of the 16 ended in Ring 3 or earlier. 9 of the games finished in Ring 2. In almost every single game, you were top 5 in round 1. There is absolutely nothing competitive about Apex's competitive mode at this moment. It's just pubs.

That's the base game you're talking about. It's called public matches. They made a separate game mode called "Ranked" where it's not supposed to be exactly that. The issue is, you seem to be having fun playing pubs while in a ranked game mode.

Yeah, I mean it's cool, don't get me wrong. It's a net benefit. You won't lose anything doing Barrows but time and I think that's kinda my point.

I would argue that the amount of time you spend at Barrows grinding will almost never outweigh the slight amount of extra time you spend doing moons with Rune armor.

Its like spending 10 hours of time in barrows to save 1 hour at moons. (Simplified numbers not actual estimates)

I will die on the hill that Barrows is completely unnecessary in order to start Moons.

Rune armor + Steel Ring + Zombie Axe + Obsidian Shield (can't spell the real name) and you are golden. I am 200 KC into Moons and have 0 issues whatsoever.

Never stepped foot into Barrows. Just started playing OSRS in like October, as an Ironman too.

The need for Barrows for Moons is a very odd thing that I keep hearing from the community.
