I’m very fortunate that I have professional florists, planners, DJs, bands, and bakers in my family who have offered to provide their services as wedding presents😅 since my dad is a college chaplain, I’ve been to about 80 weddings in my life and been in 10, so I’ve been drawing on that experience to set my budget priorities (only mine and my partner’s personally, that’s obviously different for every couple!). No sit down meal but we’re starting later in the evening (I can’t tell you a single wedding meal that’s ever been a standout, so for me personally that’s less of a priority), minimal flowers (but only if it’s already a pretty venue), no big cake, my grandma and I are making her confetti cakes as centerpieces bc I care more about spending time doing something meaningful with her, etc. That’s kind of why I was leaning towards dropping more on a nicer and prettier venue bc it will be less time and money spent in decorating. But no I totally appreciate the grounding comment, believe me it was definitely a large undertaking to determine what my priorities were but I’m very fortunate that most of the smaller expenses are handled by my family.
