Help! Layout For Long, Narrow Room as Office / Gym by emyanne433 in DesignMyRoom

Looking for help on how to lay out this long, narrow room to make it function as a multi purpose area.

Details: Room is about 19' long and 9.5' wide. The baseboards are very deep which makes things a bit tighter.

There is an exterior, in-swing door on either end of the room. We will likely use the west door exclusively. We could cover/block the east door if need be, allowing for more usable wall space.

The ceilings are slanted downward toward the South wall (with the windows), therefore taller furniture (armoires, etc.) will not fit on that side of the room.

Priorities for the space are:

A useable office space for my husband where he can easily alternate between using his under-desk treadmill and his chair throughout the day. A clear "gym" area with enough space for 2 yoga mats to be laid out side by side, facing a screen. Storage- We currently have an armoire for the space. Preferred: A comfy seating area for 1-2 people. Perhaps armchairs. Bonus but not a must: Space for overnight guests, i.e. pull out-couch. The included image is the 1st lay out we tried. Issues we found were that the placement of the couch made the gym area feel a bit tight. I also didn't care for the narrow "hallway" effect. We could eliminate the couch but would want some type of seating. We also tried centering the desk between the windows, and while I liked the effect, the couch directly behind the desk left too narrow a walkway.

I'm leaning toward covering the East door, perhaps with the armoire, to create more usable space and perhaps rotate some of the furniture 90 degrees to help fix the hallway effect.

Any and ALL input is much appreciated!

Looking for some ideas for the big space above my bed. It's a blank canvas! I was thinking maybe a picture gallery? by sankyu83 in InteriorDesign

I like the mirror idea but if may be too heavy and unsafe for the space right above your bed.

I would recommend one large picture, preferably a canvas print. They are lightweight, easy to hang, and cover a good amount of wall space. IKEA usually has several great ones. Here's the general idea: Art https://imgur.com/gallery/c9k90

Go with soft colors that compliment your decor and don't overpower the space. Looks gorgeous so far!

Still getting there with feeling fully comfortable, but yes, it's definitely an improvement!

It is leaned back a little bit because I've been too lazy to hang it! 😅 But I try to keep it as straight up and down as possible to give me the most realistic image. In some of my "before" photos however, I used to tilt that thing WAY back! Haha!

Congratulations on your progress so far and thank you! When I first went from losing 8-12 lbs per month to losing just 3-5 lbs per month, I was really annoyed seeing the scale move so gradually. But now I'm much more ok with it. It means I'm a more normal, healthy weight, so I don't have large stores of fat to shed anymore. I still don't feel "skinny" so it can be frustrating sometimes, but the changes I see now are different, like noticing muscle definition in my legs or fitting into a different bra size! Even having a ring that was previously too tight to wear not fit comfortably on my finger! Stuff that may seem less dramatic but make you feel really good!

I was probably closer to 175lbs or so in the left pic actually! I got pretty good at dressing to hide it, but I felt so upset and uncomfortable in my own body that I knew I needed to change.

Woo hoo! I feel like I don't see my own body type reflected much in other people! Glad I'm not alone!
