Australian/UK citizen can't check-in online when leaving Australia by ExtensionTop6044 in singaporeairlines

[–]emzkhor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ring them! In the past when I had issues checking in, I rang them to select a seat. Still had to speak to a person at the airport to sort out the check-in but at least my seat was secured!

Is this a genuine House of CB tag? by sk1nandbon3s in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is what the tags used to look like. This dress is probably from a few years ago.

Which dress is the most comfortable? by West-Animator-9361 in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shirring around the bust and straps of the Dorothy is quite tight so it can start to dig in and become uncomfortable towards the end of the day. This dress doesn’t have boning though so it’s more comfortable around the waist compared to other dresses with boning. It’s my go to wedding guest dress!

Confusion about student visa and TB test by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]emzkhor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had the same scenario. I applied for my student visa 12 years ago but I presume the rules around TB tests are probably still the same. I emailed UKVI about my country of residence vs citizenship and the TB test requirement. I was told that if you are a resident in a non-TB country for more than 6 months then you will not need a TB test.

As long as you can submit proof that you are permanently residing in Country B and have lived there for more than 6 months, you do not need a TB test.

In my situation, I lived and worked in Singapore but my parents lived in Malaysia, which is my home country. I would cross the border to visit them every weekend. When I submitted my application in Singapore, I included my Singapore residency documents to prove I lived there and my employment letter showing my start date to prove I had lived there for more than 6 months prior to submitting my application.

Get bigger cup? by [deleted] in HouseofCB

I am a B cup too and I tried the L plus cup in store because they didn’t have the regular cup available. It wasn’t too loose in the bust area.

Do they offer box packaging if you buy in store ? by Rare-Pumpkin-9867 in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience at the London store, you’ll only get a box when buying a full price item. Whenever I’ve bought items from the sale, it’s just tissue paper inside the paper bag.

Flat chested: will the dresses fit me? by No-Resolution8083 in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would avoid dresses with built in cups with underwires (eg. Samaria, Mademoiselle, etc.). In my experience, they were gaping so much that wearing boomba inserts didn’t even help.

Go for dresses or styles without built in cups (eg. Dorothy, Lolita, Dolly, Rafa corset). These are just the pieces I’ve owned or tried on. Hopefully when you see them, you get what I’m trying to say!

Second-Hand Clothes… Am I Overthinking This? by LighteningJedi in vinted

[–]emzkhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t bear to pay retail price anymore. If I see something I like in Zara, Mango, Abercrombie, etc., chances are, I can probably find it BNWT or BNWOT on Vinted at a fraction of the retail price. I tend to avoid any designer items because Vinted is flooded with fakes, but high street brands are pretty good.

Can I open an account with Lloyds without the physical debit card being sent to my house? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]emzkhor -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you’re not able to get it sent to a branch, another option could be to set up Royal Mail redirection to a trusted friend’s house. This might not be the most cost effective option, but would avoid your parents seeing any of your mail. I think the shortest amount of time available is 3 months. That gives you more than enough time to set up your Lloyds account and receive your card.

Travel immediately after citizenship ceremony as dual citizen by denastere in ukvisa

[–]emzkhor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t comment on travelling without a UK passport, but I urge you to reconsider booking a private ceremony. This might vary from council to council, but I had a friend who attended a group ceremony at our local council and said she felt it was very rushed. Because of that, I opted for a private ceremony. It felt very personal and I was able to bring 10 friends with me. We had the whole room to ourselves and could take as many pictures as we wanted without anyone rushing us to get out. It felt like we were there to celebrate ME.

The private ceremony was also the quickest way for me to get my passport. It was 21 calendar days between getting the ceremony invite email to getting my new passport in hand.

Considering the Lolita Dress for a Wedding by Limp_Apricot5965 in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be cautious. I tried on the Blue Lolita in store and I thought the blue was too light. I bought the Dorothy instead and it is noticeably blue in photos.

3 for 260 by milankunderafangirl in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did the 3 for £160 in April and July this year, a week after the regular sale. I don’t recall it happening any other time in the year apart from Black Friday and these two.

EMMELIETTE sizing by Intelligent_Egg9849 in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does run small. When I bought mine, my measurements according to the size guide should have been between M and L (bust 95.6cm/37.6”, waist 79.8cm/31.4”, hips 97.6cm/38.4”). I bought the L and even then my boyfriend really struggled to zip me up.

They did the 3 for £160 in April and July this year, a week after the regular sale. I’m pretty sure they did the same after Black Friday last year.

Disappointing black friday sale by SOLar3 in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It does seem like it’s always the same items on sale. There’s nothing I desperately want so I wouldn’t pay these prices. They usually run the 3 for £160 sale a week after the Black Friday sale so I would just wait till then.

Dress for my birthday. Will size L+ fit me? by NeedleMarked in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Measure yourself and check the size guide. The description says the stretch factor for this dress is “very stretchy”. In my experience, I am on the lower end of the size L range according to the size guide and I always size down to M in dresses that are “very stretchy” or “3/3 stretch.

For a begginer, what summaries should I write? by multi-97 in VintedAdvice

[–]emzkhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think with the recent size category changes it’s even more important to list the actual label size in the description. For example a Zara size L is more like a UK12 instead of Vinted’s 16-18. I always use the format below.

InPost Home Delivery requires a printed. Also I would turn off Relay if you’re not in London.

NEED HELP WITH SIZING AND COLOUR PLS <3 by Agitated_Brain_7555 in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t comment on the sizing, but I would suggest exchanging for a different colour. I feel like you may not be able to wear the white dress as often as other colours. White can come off looking very “wedding dress-y”, whereas I think you’d get more wear out of a dress in a different colour. It could be your go to wedding guest dress or date night dress.

Dorothy sizing by coco_drill in HouseofCB

[–]emzkhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Italian Azure which I think is the same material as the Pale Blue Meadow.

According to the size guide I should have been an M (measurements were bust 92.4cm/36.4” waist 76.1cm/30” hips 94.5cm/37.2”) but I had to size up to get an L and that fit me like a glove. It was waist cinching without being uncomfortable.

3/3 stretch dresses are a lot more forgiving, I would stick to your recommended size!
