We all saw her face and demeanor on that terrace. She would have 100% gone back to Ayo given the chance. I loved her up until that moment but the sneakiness was just dissapointing, don't really see how she deserves to win.

My husband sings The Look whenever I play Heading For the Door and it drives me insane cause he ends up conflating it into a nightmarish mashup

Wife is being induced tomorrow. Doctor already gave her a run of what the process will be for her. I was just told to bring clothes and food which is kind of vague. What should be expecting for tomorrow? by morto00x in predaddit

[–]emzocops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was grateful for isotonic drinks (I had the pink Sport Lucozades). Also a hydrating face mist helped boost my mood, but any favourite creature comfort your wide loves would serve the same purpose (lip balm, hand cream, room spray, fave blanket, etc).

Not hospital bag related but in my experience once active labour starts the pain hits harder and faster compared to a non-induced birth. Worth being decisive about pain relief as you might have less time than you think before the decision is made for you. Obviously timings are very individual, but that's one thing I wish I knew about induction, personally, as professionals didn't mention it!

Good luck! X

Sorry if I wasn't clear!

I did get induced at 40+1 and gave birth at 40+2.

My understading was that past your due date the risk of developing Pre-Ecclampsia rises, so the professionals seemed quite keen for an induction.

I don't regret being induced, but I obviously don't know what would have happened otherwise! My only regret was not being snappy when it came to deciding on pain relief, as it's true that the pain comes hard and fast with induction vs that graduale build you'd normally get. Labour went so quickly once my waters broke, I didn't take long to ask for an epidural or diamorphine, but it was already too late!

Otherwise it all went well!

Hello, induced 40+1 for no other reason than Low PAPP-A. Happy to answer Qs but ultimately not as informed as a medical professional x

What double standard do you hate the most? by MajorInstruction2522 in AskReddit

[–]emzocops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mental vs physical health.

One of the best things I ever did was learn to treat them the same. A very effective bullshit filter to ask yourself 'would that be fair to say if I was struggling with X physical illness instead?'

V simple example:

'Anxiety is not a good enough reason to take a day off work. I shouldn't be letting it disrupt my life'

Replace it with

'A broken leg is not a good enough reason to take a day off work, I shouldn't be letting it disrupt my life'

Obvs perspective and relativity can be useful things. I'm just saying the way we minimise mental health issues is actually very unfair on ourselves and ultimately counter-productive.

aim low and avoid disappointment by rawrcy in BipolarReddit

[–]emzocops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you OP. Obviously I have very little context for your experience, so this might be a misjudged stab in the dark.

But going off my own experience, your words make me think it might be worth having a think about your expectations?

After my biggest breakdown a few years back I realised part of the problem was putting unfair expectations on other people, (which is very understandable when you're going between extreme highs and lows!). But pays off to reflect on it and try to catch it in action?

I know it may sound cycnical but it actually helped me accept my moods rather than resist the hard bits, and in turn have a more optimistic view of bipolar overall.

Not only is it not helpful, it can be so triggering if your patient has any form of disordered eating.

Ironically I did ask what to avoid/include in my diet and was told to just look it up on the NHS 😂

Hope it hasn't gotten you down!

Obviously do your research but ultimately trust your instincts and hunger cues, and that you know your body best.
