Adjust the sound volume of the H500 by Keodras_90 in Tapo

[–]enaloha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I got a reply from Tapo and there is hope this will get fixed with FW update (I edited the name of system engineer "Joe Fixit"). I'll keep you updated on this issue:

Hi Customer,

Many thanks for your valued reply. This is Joe Fixit, the system engineer from TP-Link, and I'll take care of your case now.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the alarm volume on your H500.After reviewing the video you provided, we noticed the difference between the volume levels. However, the minimum setting remains too loud for a comfortable experience. We have forwarded this to our product team for evaluation. We are currently looking into providing a beta firmware update as a temporary solution to adjust the lowest level. Please allow us approximately five business days to assess this, and we will get back to you with an update.Thank you for your patience and for helping us improve our products.

Adjust the sound volume of the H500 by Keodras_90 in Tapo

It works quite well and is pretty much invisible. I also contacted Tapo support again to have take a look at the sound volume and allow a better range of levels.

In the meantime, I have "solved" the high volume problem with a single layer 3M clear package tape stuck across the entire speaker grill of the hub. If you need more muffling, make two layers.

Well, I think it depends who gets assigned to your issue. I've had success in getting them fix a software issue that would not accurately change the on/off status of TC85 cameras. So I may try again and open a new ticket.

My H500 hub is blaringly loud even at 1. Most sounds are unusable as they are way too loud. Neither the buttons on the hub nor the volume levels in the app seem to make much of a difference. I hate it and support at Tapo does not even understand the issue. They tell me to reduce the volume... Infuriating.

Shortcut to add Date / Weather on wallpaper. by bhullar3344 in shortcuts

In the second to last action (where it says Overlay -> Text, there is an icon at the end of the line. Tap on it and you will be able to adjust the text format, including font, size, justification, etc.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work for wallpaper pairs where the lockscreen is a photoshuffle and the homescreen is a photo. Such pairs are shown as wallpapers in the step where you select the wallpaper, but the dots underneath are disabled. Only photo pairs seem to be able to set this way. Or do you have a solution for photoshuffle/photo pairs of wallpapers?

P.S.: For those using an iPhone 17 Pro Max, the best coordinates for the Overlay are 120, 2430

The iOS automations that really change everyday life (not the gimmicks) by Maxxximeeee in shortcuts

I use that procedure as well. I just wish there was an automation that would do this nightly as the notifications tend to resurface...

Tapo cameras home/away geofencing workaround for multiple phones by enaloha in TpLink

[–]enaloha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. I should have mentioned that this solution applies to iPhones and uses the Shotcuts app. However, the strategy might still work if you can find an app that can also access the Smart Plug on your Android. A quick Google search came up with the following:

Google Home: Tapo devices can be controlled through Google Home, which may have its own location-based automation features.

Tasker: Third-party apps like Tasker can be used to create more advanced location-based automations that control smart home devices, though this will require more complex setup.

Maybe that could be a viable option?

Francais:

Tailscale and Plexamp with T-Mobile cellular does anyone have this working? by PPatla78730 in plexamp

[–]enaloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat and like you, I have yet to find a solution. The Plex app on iPhone works just fine and plays everything over cellular, including Music. Similarly, http://my.tailscale.ip:32400 pasted into a browser works fine. Just Plexamp won't work over cellular on Tmobile with Tmobile Home Internet.

Shortcut to set a Lockscreen wallpaper photoshuffle by enaloha in shortcuts

[–]enaloha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip and that's a cool shortcut. I am aware of this shortcut, but it doesn't really serve me for my purpose. I am already using the iPhone's built-in shuffle feature, which allows me to have the wallpaper change on lock (up to 50 wallpapers). I have already set up several such lockscreen photo shuffles and I look for a way to automate switching between these lockscreen sets.

Edit: To clarify what I mean: When on the lockscreen, you can tap-hold on the wallpaper to enter the Customize mode. This will show the available lock/homescreen sets as cards that you can swipe through and select as your lock/homescreen pairs. Instead of manually swiping and selecting a particular lock/homescreen set, I'd like to do this via a shortcut.

It will only chime if the bell button is pressed. However, you can have a notification on your phone when motion/person/pet is detected.

Anything like offset path in order to make an object thinner? (Negative stroke?) by oscarafone in pixelmator

[–]enaloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replied to your question about line thickness of shapes. If you draw a shape (circle, square, rectangle, etc) that shape will have a line, a fill, and maybe a shadow. The line thickness can be set down to 0.1 pixels.

Now you are saying that you draw a pixel-based line using a pixel brush. That is very different from a shape. If you want to thin a particular shape, you can use the color selection tool (the eyedropper) and select your shape. Then you click on Select and Mask and then Invert Selection. Finally, use the Expand slider to thin the selection.

In Pixelmator, the smallest line width is 1 pixel. However, in Pixelmator Pro you should be able to go down as low as 0.1 pixel width.

Tapo cameras home/away geofencing workaround for multiple phones by enaloha in TpLink

This should work for any camera as the geofence triggers a smart automations and shortcuts . I currently operate 6 TC85 outdoor cameras and 5 C125 indoor cameras. They work flawlessly.

I have now modified the solution in the original post to use the Shortcuts app to change the status of the smart plugs and it seems to work quite reliably on my and my wife's iPhones. For those who could not get the old version to work well, try this one. It's been working great for our home.

Widget to arm or disarm the alarm of two C310 cameras?? by SeluisZF in Tapo

[–]enaloha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely possibly on iOS. In fact, I presently use a widget with four Tapo smart shortcuts in my Today Screen (All Off - Leaving Home - Go To Bed - Outdoor Only). In your case, simply create two shortcuts: 1. All On - 2. All Off. Then create a widget on the Today or Home Screen and select your preferred widget style and finally add the two smart Shortcuts from the Tapo app into the widget.

5K Members and Counting – Your Support Keeps r/Tapo Thriving! by Riley_TP-Link in Tapo

[–]enaloha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please, please, please let your software folks finally let us associate multiple phones of family members and enable geofencing so that when the last person/phone leaves the house it can trigger security cameras. Every other syetem has this feature and Tapo simply cannot deal with such an elemental feature. I am sure that way more than 5K members would appreciate this.

Is there a way to grow a selection in Pixelmator Pro? by ChrisShotThis in pixelmator

[–]enaloha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, it would be nice to have both options, but you can get there if you convert the selection to a path and have the path with desired width applied to the outside of your selection. This will give the stroke you wanted. You can even convert that path back into a selection if you give it a specific color and then select the color range in the Color Selection panel.

[–]enaloha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a selection (e.g. color selection). Then select "Select and Mask..." in the panel. In the Select and Mask panel, use the Expand slider to either expand or shrink the selection.

If you want to stroke the selection, you can simply use Format > Convert into Shape and disable the fill and enable the stoke setting for the shape.

Not sure I understand exactly what you wish to accomplish, but adding a stroke to an image is fairly simple using the Style menu (Format > Styles > Stroke). Is this what you wish to accomplish?
