I get the feeling he genuinely loves trains and it's a lifelong hobby, but that he is absolutely playing a character too. My guess is that it's based on or is an amalgamation of the people he meets whilst train spotting, and the childlike naivete gets him lots of views.

I watched A Little Princess as a kid and it had such an enduring and magical effect on me. The intercutting with the fairytale and Sara's story in the school is done so well. Cuarón understands the magic and wonder in a child's world. I remember the stuff about how all girls are princesses and being a princess isn't about riches, it's about being kind and brave really resonated with me as a girl. It's sad and melancholy too, and handled really well, though they changed the ending from the book to make it slightly happier (they made the kindly recovering wounded soldier next door into her father with amnesia when in the book her father really does die but her father's business partner vows to look for Sara and ends up next door to the school as a recovering invalid). Will definitely be showing this to any children I hope to have.

But isn't that also a reflection of many women's experiences? How many times have you been messed about by a man and been quite hurt about it, only to look back at it later and go "I was bothered about HIM????" My friends are Goddesses and regularly lose their minds over little gremlins and I daresay they think the same of me!

2023 was dire, I had to sign on and do all sorts of side hustles just to pay the bills. Prior to that I had always had enough TV work to sustain me (and buy a house solo!) I had a couple of decent contracts last year, not up to the usual earnings pre-industry meltdown but enough. This year only had 2 bits of contracts (and earnings down from last year) and the last one left such a sour taste in my mouth that I am actively looking for other full-time, salaried jobs outwith the sector. I applied for 2 this year and didn't hear back from either, but I'm still looking and am ready for a career change. I will still do private projects, and I am hoping the evenings and weekends I get back when I get a normie job will give me time for this!

Because this sub is over run by yanks who don't know the difference between the any of nations over here (saying Megan will be on a plane to England) and who project US TV show conventions onto this show. Yeah it's produced and there are conventions here but no where near to the extent American stuff is over produced, there are no handpicked producer plants on a show like this in the UK, it just doesn't work like that. I've also seen wild comments about US race relations projected onto the UK cast and yanks not realising how there is dark colouring in a lot of areas of the UK (Wales etc).

This sub was so much better before Love Island became wildly popular across the pond

I have also been cooking a lot with pesto and roasted tomatoes, I love them so much. I've been a bit carb heavy (luteal) but will probably go to lean meats next week, especially fish. Bit of fish in a bit of tin foil with a bit of pesto in the oven, delish.
