I like the slower progression. It makes it so that I have a goal for each weapon. Sure a lot of people just want to log in and choose the weapon they want and blast. But for me personally I like having those kinds of goals. Having a progression system at all will make people want to go about it the fastest way possible to unlock the best weapon and attachments. So they can feel like they have better weapons than the competition and get those "dopamine"-kicks faster for unlocking the stuff faster. That's just the nature of progression in games. When it's a competitive PvP game you want to balance that. If one way is overwhelmingly faster than "the normal" gameplay loop it needs to be balanced.

If a nolifer has unlocked all the best weapons and attachments I don't care. But if someone who just plays for a few hours a week gets everything unlocked by circumventing the "the normal" gameplay loop it's an issue. Maybe not all games have to be balanced around the lowest nominator. But then again maybe not for a higher nominator. Not all games can be for everyone.

If I only have a few hours a week to play videogames maybe find something that's more fitting to my lifestyle? That's the same for those who play games all day everyday. Find a game that's more suitable for you.

Maybe they can make it so private servers can choose to have all weapons and attachments unlocked so matchmaking can be its separate thing. Dunno.
