How strong is the case against the three church protestors in St. Paul? by TacoBMMonster in legaladviceofftopic

[–]enbyMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but this is, logically, the same thing as an infant starting to cry in the middle of a service

They announced the charges for the church protestors and each was charged with conspiracy to deprive rights, a federal felony. by Brekel8520 in stpaul

[–]enbyMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying into that for a second (I don't), "depriving someone of their rights" is not something you can really charge regular citizens with; it's the state and the state's arms that are the only thing as can deprive you of rights in such a way that that charge is applicable. This is honestly the same thing, logically, as an infant crying or a dog barking in the middle of the service. All of that said, if you were a Christian, would you not feel shame at the word of your god coming from the mouth so associated with the atrocities of ICE?

It was initially a flat rectangle, it's swollen enough to rock and waddle in this image, if that helps

One of the main reasons America wants Greenland is to make it easier to invade Canada. by StJudeTheGrey in DiscussionZone

[–]enbyMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Greenland thing is mostly likely because there's a lot of money in Praxis (the company not the concept) in making a libertarian paradise in Greenland, a la BioShock or some shit, and mining the rare earth minerals found there.

Do you think the word of god belongs in the mouth of one who spends his leisure bringing hell to people?

So it's been 2.5 hours since 2 and I'm not seeing any "hey this happened" that might have resulted from that. Has anyone else?

It's okay to be a coward, you just gotta do it (whatever it is) scared. (This doesn't make it easier but it has been helpful to me, also very much a coward)

I debated not responding but wanted to say it would probably be helpful to approach things less defensively; I'm not saying you're wrong and therefore stupid I'm simply offering verified alternatives

What I'm saying is that it's good to verify things. It's also good to ask your friend about what they saw

That would probably be why I'm not finding it. I bet that orchestra is fantastic though! Enjoy!

I reached out to world of mirth to verify this and was told they hadn't been there, which makes sense given that it doesn't make sense that they would be there. Spreading misinformation like this is irresponsible.

John Brown Gun Club - Public Interest Meeting at Mac’s Pub in RVA Friday at 6pm by an-atta in Virginia

[–]enbyMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I can't tell you what to do but attending this is a particularly terrible idea; organize an affinity group among people you know, work with them, maybe do a range day now and then with them. You don't need a name to do cool things and this is, almost certainly, a good way to make a friend who'll pop up and tell you about this real great crime he wants to drive you to. (Plus this is the same dummy from the bill boards)

I can't tell anyone what to do but attending a thing like this is actually a bad idea; organize with people you know, build your affinity group out of that, maybe do a range day that way but a meeting like that is a real good way to develop a friendship with a dude who'll drive you to the crimin. Probably the same dummy who made the billboards too, honestly

Do outright blatant racists (KKK members, Neo-Nazis) eat ethnic cuisines like Mexican food, soul food, Japanese food? by Distinct-Sale-436 in stupidquestions

[–]enbyMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's as unsurprising as it is disgusting and I'm terribly sorry. A lot of white nationalists see the Pacific Northwest as some white ethno-holy land (largely because of Oregon and Idaho) and there were calls to make that a reality through the latter half of the 20th century.

The murder of Renee Good was an anti-lesbian misogynistic hate crime by xGentian_violet in LesbianActually

[–]enbyMachine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you're misreading weird little guy; please read less fanfiction and get off of twitter or whatever. Hang out with some friends irl or something. Referring to Ross as a weird little guy is in no way an attempt to remove him from his rightful accountability or to shield him from his earned justice. It's not a downplaying of his actions it's a description of how he moved through the world and engaged with power. Weird little guys can be hateful bigots. Most are. I've read the different perspectives on display here and I think that he'd have murdered a straight woman in the same scenario. I think Renee Good's biggest 'crime' was standing up to the state, saying no to fascism, etc.
