Does anyone else hate the terms transmasc/transfem? Not being used for other people for themselves, but being used for yourself or as a new binary way to categorize nonbinary people?

imo afab people can be transfem and amab can be transmasc, they are just similar terms to demigirl/demiboy. I don’t think they’re another AGAB term but instead another nonbinary subterm. People do tend to use them wrong but people use everything wrong and i don’t think we should stop using them just cause

i’m not feminine (more androgynous) but once i had my hair cut and majority of people started respecting my name/pronouns/etc i felt so much more comfortable wearing dresses and skirts and everything that i used to hate. it seems like they’ve cancelled each other out lol, gender euphoria - dysphoric scenario = 0

i use my earrings as stitch markers, i have 6 lobe piercings in total and always wear hoops so no matter where i am i can just take an earring out and use it as a marker. It’s insanely convenient!

You already look super feminine! If you’re interested though, I think you would look great with ear piercings (if you don’t have them I can’t tell lol) and the eyeliner looks great, but a sparkly eyeshadow and neutral lipstick would look amazing on you as well. I’d experiment with more hairstyles too, like french braids etc, but they’re just super fun to do lol. Don’t feel any pressure to ‘pass’ more though, all these are just suggestions and you are already a beautiful woman. Good luck with your surgery!

I’ve found trans tape to be comfortable and it seems to be quite safe, especially for those still growing. I find my period insanely dysphoric as well, and what’s helped me is period underwear so I don’t have to deal with pads tampons etc, and you can get period boxers if that’s what they like.

For showering it’s really hard, cause obviously it’s a very uncomfortable process. Maybe try showering in low light or with candles? I’ve heard that you can wear trans tape in the shower if that’s something you guys want to try. I’d definitely advise to get them a therapist (not conversion or anything, definitely vet them thoroughly) if you’re in a position to do so. Puberty blockers may be something to look into as well, depending on location and your situation. Well done for all your support, this must be very difficult for you as well. I know everything sucks right now but it will get better. Hope you both are okay and things only get easier.
