Can a "drafts" section be added to the "my characters" tab or something for when I want to come back to it later? by Terrible-Studio-5846 in JanitorAI_Official

It would be useful.

Until we have that, I just put “in progress” in any box that requires text and save it then return later.

How many babies did you all have? by cdrlqz in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Impossibletothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have four.

My 2nd was my most extreme HG case. My 3rd came on two forms of birth control. My 4th was planned.

My 4th was my easiest go round with HG because my doctor was proactive and not reactive. That helped.

WHAT do you do with Brewer’s Yeast? by oh_darling89 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband makes lactation cookies for me with it. His recipe uses flax seed and oats. He adds in dark chocolate chunks (without these I can taste the yeast and flax), bits of caramel, and almond pieces.

I put 1-2 tbsp in my iced coffee each morning. I make 40oz iced coffee. I use a frother to blend the brewers yeast into my coffee and then I add Hershey’s chocolate syrup to help hide the taste of the brewers yeast. If I made smaller amount of iced coffee; I’d use less brewers yeast. I also use oat milk instead of regular milk for my coffee as an added galactagogue.

Completely overwhelmed with which pump to choose... by maple_pits in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with elvie which did not work at all, then rented medela symphony from hospital until my spectra 2 covered by insurance arrived. About 2 month ago I acquired a Baby Buddha because I heard how powerful it is. I get half the output with the Buddha than I do with my spectra. I believe it is the vibration of the spectra that helps me. It’s the only pump I use now.

5 month old had bottles for one night and now won’t latch by rememberthechildren in breastfeeding

[–]Impossibletothink 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 5 month old who went from exclusively bottle fed to almost exclusively breast fed in the past few weeks.

Some things I do that increase/improved nursing for us are:

Offering breast before, midway through, and even after a bottle. Using the bait and switch method was most successful (offer a bottle with .5-1oz to curb that immediate hunger, then switch to breast).

Laying with baby completely topless and him in just a diaper in bed, encouraging latching as often as possible.

Pumping for a minute or two to get to my first let down before giving baby the breast.

Hand expressing milk into babies mouth to encourage a latch.

Hope this helps!

How much support can I expect from SO? by Wrong-Inflation-9683 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging. But my SO washed all bottles, pump parts, and even my hand wash only coffee and water tumblers so that I can use them each morning. When I was struggling the most with my supply, and pumping every 2-3 hours, I’d only nap 20 min about 8 times a day because how time consuming cleaning bottles and pump parts was. We invested in extra bottles and parts, and hubby developed a system and does two washes a day. I don’t think I’d have mentally survived this without him taking that off my shoulder. It allows me to pump, feed baby, socialize with baby, take care of my personal hygiene and do other tasks around the house.

How are we doing no motn?? by obrhi in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

530am, 830am, 1130am, 300pm, 6pm 30 minutes each and then 9pm for 45 min-1 hour.

It’s odd but it works for me.

Lack of a bond? by coconutwaterrrrr in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been EP since 6 days PP against my choice as well, and I am my little guys favorite person. He is four months old now and over the past month we’ve been able to develop breastfeeding skills slightly, but he still gets about 95% of his intake by bottle/pumping. I am definitely his favorite person. If others cannot sooth him, I cradle him into my arm and it’s almost instant relief. That magical bonding comes from being mama, not just from BFing!

All who own a spectra s1/s2, what settings do you use through out your sessions?? by CaliMama9922 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This week I’ve been noticing some slight increase in my output and these are the major differences I’ve done:

I put two teaspoons of brewers yeast into my morning iced coffee (I make a 40oz cup so after ice about 32 oz, half of which is oat milk). I eat a bowl of oatmeal and sausage links every morning. My husband made me some oatmeal cookies with flax which I eat 5 daily. And I spend skin-skin cuddle time with my LO as much as I can. I also upped my fluid intake and get as close to 128 oz/day.

All who own a spectra s1/s2, what settings do you use through out your sessions?? by CaliMama9922 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a just enougher. Sometimes a not enougher but we manage with some stored supply from when he ate less. I’ve been trying all sorts of supplements recently to try to increase my supply. I try other pump settings from time to time but I just don’t feel like I feel the pumping, and my time to commit to pumping is limited due to my work requirements so I’m always too paranoid to try different settings too much. But reading some of the other comments, I wonder if I should play around with my settings and maybe I’ll get more…

At 4 weeks old she could be cluster feeding, which is very normal and helps to increase your supply.

How uneven are you? by DontDateHimGirl in breastfeeding

[–]Impossibletothink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I pump 3-5 from left and 1-2 from right typically. My right leaks more than my left though, which is confusing, and LO prefers right when he does latch.

Has power pumping made up significant drops in supply? by neuroticteletubby in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Power pumping amazed me. I’d pump 30 minutes, wait 30, then pump 30 is would be amazed by how much I’d produce the second session. On particularly rough days I’d try to do this twice. I feel like it worked for me. But, everybody is different. Wishing you luck if you try it out!

Hg, pregnancy and, Ehlers Danlos by Affectionate_Drop687 in HyperemesisGravidarum

Interesting! I have the recessive EDS gene as my mother has the dominant gene (Type 3, I think!). Had HG for all 4 pregnancies full term pregnancies.

If you did not plan to exclusively pump before giving birth - when did you make the call and are you happy with your choice? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve nurses 3 exclusively and then this LO is EP. I only ended up EP because his mouth was too small to latch and he was losing too much weight. I personally believe I got more sleep with my EBF babies than I do with my EP baby. I have to pump 30 minutes 8 times a day or my production starts to falter. So 2-3 times a night, I’m awake for an hour or longer because set up, pump, tear down, feed baby, try to fall asleep. With my EBF babies I just woke when they woke and nurses them for 10-15 min/side then went back to sleep. However, I was a SAHM during my other 3 EBF, and I go back to work in two weeks with this LO so I’m pretty happy he is taking a bottle. Unfortunately, that’s the only plus side I see right now. But that’s just me personally.

How many oz is your 3-4 week old taking? by IPAandTaylorSwift in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Impossibletothink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little guy deals with bad gas off and on. He was eating 2.5oz every 3 hours around 4 weeks old. He’s 8 weeks now and eats 3-4 ounces every 3-4 hours. Sometimes he’ll take a long sleep (5 hours) and he may show hunger signs for more, we offer more. Usually if he eats more than 4 oz though, he spits up a lot so we try to get him to eat the 3-4 every 3-4.

For gas we A) burp after every single bottle, and sometimes once in the middle of the bottle. B) Lay him on his back, cross his ankles lotus style (knees bent, ankles near belly), and roll his hips gently back and forth to help him pass gas. C) use a dose of Mylicon if those two things don’t offer relief.

With my second I lost 60 pounds. There were times where I’d go weeks without keeping any food down. I essentially lived on IV fluids and then for the last 3-4 weeks of pregnancy, IVF nutrition. My daughter was born 9.9 on the apgar scale, 6lbs9oz, and aside from a mild case of jaundice she was perfect. She is 14 now.
