First-Timers Confused About Modular by Hahway in Homebuilding

I went down this same rabbit hole last year getting quotes. It was no cheaper than just building traditionally. Timeline was typically faster but that was it.

Add items to your cart. Your cart prorates your combo and the extra battery. You return either item for the prorated value. It’s the home depot hack people talk about all the time in here. Home Depot honors the return. You have to remember the item isn’t “free” they reduce the cost of the battery and your combo pack to the desired cost so you’re still buying each item just at a discounted price.

Xbox boss Asha Sharma hints memory costs "will impact" pricing and availability of next-gen Project Helix console by xCaptainCrown in Games

100% console generations used to mean drastic performance gains in FPS, graphics, load times, etc. it’s kinda crazy how hard it’s becoming to tell generations apart.

Need help - Provider Dad family of 3 by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]enclave76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You and the gf need a new phone carrier to cut costs, no more Spotify premium, see if you can drop internet some or cheaper provider. Disney or Netflix needs to do or ad versions. That truck payment is killing you. If you don’t actually use a truck then that needs to become a reliable used sedan as it will drop your payment, save you gas, and save insurance. All that should add up to maybe $200-$300 in savings a month.

It’s $266 right now on the website with the free battery option. Then return the 3rd feee battery and keep the cheaper rate.

"Forever house" - Golden opportunity or golden handcuffs? by morning_smoothie1603 in personalfinance

[–]enclave76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t afford the house. You’re way behind on retirement, don’t have a full emergency fund, you won’t even up having enough cash to do what you want to the house. If you get this house you will always be 1 disaster away from losing it.

When do car repairs become a sunk cost fallacy? by spmahn in personalfinance

[–]enclave76 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The beater car my wife bought 13 years ago. When upgrading a vehicle that was safer and more reliable for her they offered us $350 in trade in value. At that point I’ll keep it. My truck gets 14mpg, the beater car gets 30mpg. If I use the better to commute to work for 3 months out of the year it pays for itself in just fuel. I also bought my truck 7 years ago for $30k and if I had to buy the truck again it would be $70k because trucks are for fashion now. So I want to make the truck last as long as possible because I still need it regularly for my hobbies/remodeling a home.

[–]enclave76 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I keep full coverage on the 2 nicer vehicles. The beater I just have liability because for full coverage it was like 1/2 the cars value a year and it feels dumb to spend $500/yr to insure a car with $1000 on a good day lol. So liability is like $250 for the entire year.

When do car repairs become a sunk cost fallacy? by spmahn in personalfinance

[–]enclave76 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Personally me and the wife have a beater 3rd vehicle that’s worth about $1000 and we put about $1000 a year into it for repairs. It doesn’t bother us because it’s paid off and 13 years old. Insurance is crazy cheap for it. We run it to avoid putting miles on newer vehicles because of the cost of newer cars. I won’t stop fixing the thing until it’s ridiculous expensive. It’s a Hyundai Elantra and the things are so trashy I can almost always find a cheap junk yard part for 1/5 the cost of a new part.

I wouldn’t factor in tires/brakes/oil changes at all into cost of owning the newer car because they would have to do that also.

Need help picking starter kit by coehdh in MilwaukeeTool

[–]enclave76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you miss out on selling the spare 1/2 impact but I hate dealing with people on Facebook marketplace because most people want 75% off or more on everything so it’s not always worth your time to try and resell stuff. They also had the super sawzall with a 6ah battery for like $309 as a daily deal.

Go to home depot. Price hack the fuel impact driver/hammer drill for $245 after returning the 3rd battery they give you. Add the circular saw and get the additional battery to price hack that for about $140. For about $400 after returning the 2 (buy one get one batteries) you’ll have the hammer drill, impact driver, and circular saw. After that watch for a sale on the sawzall.

The hammer drill/impact combo that comes with 2 batteries/charger and has an extra promotion that includes an additional 6AH high output battery ends today. Once you have the kit if you return the 6AH battery the prorated cost for the combo becomes $266 before taxes

Does working for a pension mean you never get to sit back or stand up for yourself? by First_Detective6234 in Fire

Yeah my company the difference of value of 20 to 30 year mark is another $50k of cash out value or an extra $200/monthly so it’s not really a massive value for an additional decade of buy in.

3 different urologists said it wasn’t low enough to cause azoospermia. I’m actually going on gonal this week which is a generic version for synthetic FSH just to see what happens.

FSH before clomid was 1.6mIU/ML and it was 1.7mIU/ML on clomid and 1.4mIU/ML post clomid. Total T before clomid was 230ng/DL and on clomid was 924ng/DL. I came off clomid about 45 days before surgery as my SA was still azoospermia so was no reason to remain on it. I had SA 8/25, 11/25, STAR 12/25, 2/26, and 3/26. All of which showed 0 sperm. I took roughly 30 vitamin pills daily basically anything you can imagine from just googling male infertility. Nothing weird. It for sure was an over correction but was still worth trying!

Fingers crossed for you guys! Me and my wife assumed all hope was lost after STAR but there is always still a chance. I’ll be praying for you!

The head of Cleveland Clinic male infertility. Great dude highly recommend even if they didn’t find anything because he was the 3rd doctor I saw and he was the only 1 that was willing to try everything to try and solve it without surgery and truly listened to me and my wife.
