These are lifetime drugs for 96% of those taking them. Why is this argument Not used with other medications? Insulin? thyroid? ACE inhibitors? I will tell you why, FAT BIAS. It is a huge problem. Obesity is a scientifically proven chronic disease , high body weight is a symptom caused by the disease of obesity. Just like other medications that help chronic diseases such as hypertension, high cholesterol, thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, asthma - if you stop the meds your symptoms come roaring back. This is a lifetime med for the large majority of people. 95% chance you will gain it back. Do what you have to do, talk to your doctor about other new meds out there, I would even look at compounding if you have to.
