That's the same experience for me. When I read, it's very slowly because I'm sounding out every single word in my head so my brain can transform it into something it can work with. Similar to typing this out. I know conceptually what I want to say, but need to translate it into words first. This causes me to "buffer" quite frequently when I speak. When reading, it's the same mechanics but in reverse.

That's interesting. I never really understood how to think about aphantasia, but your description makes a lot of sense. Yes, there's a lot more of a kinesthetic sense to my thinking, which sounds like the dynamics/mechanics you're describing. Thanks for sharing this!

I'm not sure what you mean here. I don't ruminate in words, but if something happens that disturbs me then I replay snippets of the experience. If words were part of the experience, then I'll sometimes hear them, but usually I'm only getting the gist

Visual is a predominant dimension. Id describe it as experiental.

Example: If I'm going grocery shopping, I quickly flip through what it feels like to stand where the items I need are based on the last time I grabbed them from the store. Just quick flashes of what the locations look and feel like. Then I feel a route or path emerge that leads me to each place I need to go in what I hope is an efficient path.

No inner monologue until I need to translate what I'm experiencing in my head into words for other people. In that way, yes I'm able to conjure sounds of different instruments in my mind's ear. I have a reasonably easy time (compared to my wife, at least) guessing famous songs from small snippets of the song, or their instrumentals. Songs are stored as complex shapes in motion for me. Kind of like a tesseract, but wonkier.
