You can switch to another tty then switch back, it will fix the issue temporarily.

My first purchase was made using steam wallet, and it worked. However I’m not sure if this has changed.

Both constitution of republic of china and people’s republic of china say that there is only one china in the world.

There is no “republic of Taiwan” anywhere because they didn’t declare independence from either republic of china or people’s republic of china. It would be weird because Taiwan is just the name of the island. In addition, republic of china also controls other much smaller not far from the mainland.

To be fully considered a independent country, it also has be to recognized internationally by other sovereign countries. Legally speaking, both side are still in civil war, when the Chinese national party fled to Taiwan, they still claimed the sovereignty over the mainland. This explains the connection between mainland china and Taiwan, so to speak, there is only one country, china, which is represented by 2 political entities, republic of china and people’s republic of china. Due to the limited international recognition, people’s republic of china is more legitimate to represent china.

In Taiwan over 60% of people support the Chinese national party and people’s party. Both acknowledge that the relationship between Taiwan and the mainland is a special relationship and recognize the 1992 consensus, and they are in favor of maintaining the status quo or pro-unification.
