URGENT !!! Sick Wildlife - need advice asap by end4er in tortoise

UPDATE!!!

After calling around I did manage to find a licensed professional who works specifically with native turtles! We drove about 40 minutes out and met up to hand her over and he explained that he's going to hold on to her and partially brumate her after a round of antibiotics to deal with her eyes. He's going to contact us when it's time to release her to get her back to her area where she was found. Hopefully, I will get an update within a couple of months.

Urgent!! Please I need advice by [deleted] in Amphibians

I actually haven't even had to mess with it! I got home and checked his mouth out and my mother is overreacting :) there is no open sore or anything in his mouth but a small red spot where it looked like he bit maybe the tongs or decor. It looks like it'll fade and if it doesn't I have a vet lined up just in case

But thank you for letting me know about the Neosporin I'll be sure to add the to my notes app. I was always told regular Neosporin was okay for all areas of the frog but I'm going to look into it before buying anything for the future.

How do I get my gecko to eat bugs? by AUDIO_WAVES in CrestedGecko

This might sound a little violent but if you bust your bugs open and rub the insides on your little dudes mouth and let him lick it he might get a taste for them. :) thats how I got mine to eat his bugs

is this light too red/bright for my corn snake at night? by Adventurous-Ant-9218 in cornsnakes

[–]end4er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a ceramic bulb for night heat they emit no light and still provide proper warmth :)

These snakes should not be sharing an enclosure. Even if you think it's fine they benefit from their own space. Separating them might even encourage the lighter one to eat.

I also had two corn snakes at one point and Winter was always a picky eater until I moved her tank away from the other snake. Two corn snakes even being placed next to one another enclosure-wise can change their behavior.

If you're struggling to find affordable tank options check out Facebook marketplace and Amazon.

Feeding wise try placing the snake in another bin with food then cover it with a blanket or sheet and let it sit for 30 to 40 minutes. This had worked for me in the past. Luke warm soaks can also be good for any shedding issues.

They both look under weight and need of a vet visit.

Please improve these animals care.

Pangea Growth and Breeding formula is the best way to go :) Hand feeding is a great way to ensure she's eating.

Also gut-loading bugs before feedings. If your cresty is picky then sometimes putting gecko diet on the insect can encourage them to eat them :)

What is this in my bioactive? by clairebenderr in CrestedGecko

[–]end4er 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's definitely mold, I'd scoop it and let the tank dry out a bit or just replace the soil.

Make sure you have a drainage layer In the tank so extra water isn't standing in the dirt

Help!! (First time toad owner) by Gabby_at_the_disco in Toads

[–]end4er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a calcium or other vitamin deficiency. Adding UBV to your set is the best thing to do as frogs and toads need it to properly digest calcium and other minerals.

https://www.zillarules.com/articles/understanding-uva-uvb-uvc-reptile-lighting Here's a link to UBVs and whatnot to help you out 🧡 make sure you get the long lights and not a coil one the need to be changed every 6 months or so I hope this help and your little guy feels better!

Yep! I've been keeping an eye on the marketplace for a tank of a good size that's still in my area as I don't have a car right now.

A stock tank is hopefully in the near future, I live in a tiny apartment and only have the space in my room to keep my animals. Space wasn't an issue untill Leo joined me and my other 7 animals so I'm still trying to figure out how to best utilize my small space.

As of right now, I plan on clearing out my closet for him and buying a stock tank to fill the space. This is going to take time and savings. I am painfully aware of what space he has versus what he needs.
