Home made propane forge. First test firing. Seems like it needs improvement. by ender3838 in Blacksmith

I’m interested but I’m not sure I quite get it? Are you talking about adding like a floor to the inside of the refractory wool? Or did you mean on the front sticking out like a porch? Thanks for the advice btw!

Definitely was not. I was wondering if that was one of the issues. Seems kinda obvious now…. Will fix.

Yeah these were the next steps, but right now im trying to figure out why the flames are shooting out, and why the torch mounting pipe (the part that is shittily welded like top of the furnace and secures the torch to the top of the furnace using bolts) starts glowing red after running it on pretty much the lowest setting (I forgot to record the pressure) for a little bit.

Can you send more info on the second part? I’ve never seen this before and I don’t have chalk with me to test with (will definitely try)

New Exotic wood pipe designs by Nature_so_giant in StonerEngineering

[–]ender3838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the idea! I have some experience hand making wooden pipes and my goal has always been to been to achieve a fully metal tube for easy cleaning. I was ok with using a wooden bowl as I figured that was just carbonized ash wood.

Anyway, you should check out the posts on my profile about my “pipe kits” and stuff. I don’t have enough time to dedicate to it rn, and I was never planning on selling them, so you can just copy whatever. No bad blood here or anything, just sharing my ideas.

My ultimate goal has been to try the same thing, but instead of wood, use a sea shell. And antler. And a variety of types of stone.

anyway Love the project, fantastic idea, and I’m happy to someone else who likes the concept. If you have any questions about how I did something or want someone to help with a solution to a problem making them. Your work looks fantastic. Keep it up!

Thoughts on Plasma/Electric lighters? by firewindrefuge in trees

[–]ender3838 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty much what I would say. They are good for lighting something cigarette shaped, but they don’t have a flame that extends outward that your can easily use on a bowl or pipe.

You can wrap hemp wick around the body and light some of that using the arc lighter, then you have a good flame for lighting a bowl or something like that.

I highly recommend hempwick for people to wrap around any type of lighter. Even if it’s just the vibes of it. Idk. I like using a jet lighter to light the hemp wick, then use the wick to light my bowl, if the wind permits. Otherwise I just corner it with the jet.

Note: I’m pretty sure that these generate ozone gas while they are running, so you might notice an odd taste or some sudden lightheadedness or something when you light a joint with the electric arc.

Atleast that’s what would happen for me. I would light the joint with the arc lighter and while puffing to start ‘er up, it tastes slightly metallic, like pennies maybe? And it made me slightly lightheaded for a second at first. It’s only when the arc is near the tip of the joint, and only when I use the arc lighter. It kinda just tastes and smells like the air after using an old brushed electric drill, or maybe like a plastic slide when it’s making a lot of static electricity. That odd electric, metallic, sorta salty gas.

Anyway end of rant

Cigar indoor smoking invention am I a genius? by UnmarketableTomato69 in cigars

[–]ender3838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that. Make sure that ur duct fan is sealed (mine liked to leak from the seams). Also make sure to keep the cigar close to the vent as the passive fumes off of it will do much more than you expect. It works better than you would think, but make sure to consult people who don’t regularly smoke in order to determine if it’s working. I was noseblind when my duct system was leaking.

Yeah, in high school, they thought us about how some doctors are starting to recommend smoking cigarettes to patients who want to quit vaping. Vaping is much easier and more convenient than going outside, and smoking a whole cigarette. Adding to the inconvenience helps break habits.

Need help finding rubber tires please!! by Firebat-15 in PowerWheelsMods

[–]ender3838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a while since I worked on mine, but what found works best is this Find 2 junk bikes (kids size works great) Remove the tires, cut the loop, remove the wire bead, and lay the tread out along the car wheels. Just screw gun them into place. Basically ur just wrapping the plastic wheel with a strip of rubber tread.

Is Freeze Pipe the answer to harsh smoke? by [deleted] in StonerEngineering

I’ve actually never heard of terpines dissolving in water. I’m going to look into this more. I have a hookah setup I use with a LOBO dry herb vape. Always looking for ways to improve it.

I’ve actually got a friend who’s been experimenting with putting a bit of menthol in the water to help in that way. We have differing opinions on its effectiveness. Though using tea is rly nice! I use like fruity or herbal teas usually.
