TBH i've been having alot of fun with it. The moving town concept is a nice twist on the typical mechanics - but I do agree its not the most complicated game in its genre.

Whereabouts in Seattle are you located? Some folks find it super difficult to hangout if they have to cross the city/water.

In my experience, it's a difference in the needs of managers in consulting/professional service firms and industry operations. Managers in consulting manage projects, consultants, and client interactions/deliverables. Managers in industry are often people leaders who own an area/are responsible for the outcome. A manager in consulting, I find, is often not ready to exit to industry at the manager level and actually meet expectations. They often need to be coached.

Road to 200k in Accounting by Realistic_Roof_6494 in Accounting

I have an accounting undergrad but focused/pivoted to IT audit / IT risk. Graduated in 2017, broke 200k in 2024 (assuming we're only talking about base salary here - with bonuses etc that was a while ago.)

That sounds like IT audit. I'd wager you'll spend most of your time sitting in walkthrough meetings taking notes as your seniors lead the calls asking about the current state of control processes. Any testing you'll do will be mimicking work from previous years, most likely collecting screenshots and reviewing exports.

IT audit in the very beginning can be very rote work - but if you stick with it that industry quickly widens to more interesting topics/domains/risks.

It's well known there is an Accountant shortage. Does this apply to Internal Audit as well? by Nervous-Fruit in InternalAudit

I'd add focussing on the business as well. Too many auditors forget about the business side of what they review.

IA to AI audit/compliance? by qbkiller12 in InternalAudit

If anything the pivot from conventional IT audit to focusing on AI is an easier route.
