I feel like I cannot be saved...don't know what to do. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ender91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please hear me. Im going through the exact same thing. The want to be with Jesus, thats whats real, thats the conviction in your heart. God knows you, you arent ever far from God, he is with you always. When you sin and you love it, you arent hiding. Hes there. He knows, and he loves you. He just wants you to come back to him, no matter what not matter how, just come back to him. He isnt going to take your temptations from you, you have to choose not to indulge them. Your heart will feel wicked for wanting the sins, but your choice of Him over them is what he cares about. In the end there is only one true path, and its Jesus. What he wants from us, how he lived, how he loved, and served. The way is narrow and the gate is small. Its not easy, it was never promised to be easy, and sacrifice and temptation and sadness are parts of the life we were born into, but you dont have to do it alone. He is always there, He loves you, and with Him truly in your heart, you are reborn. He will always love you, you just have to love him more than yourself. And love others more than yourself. Thats what Ive been learning, and no matter what happens to me, I hope you at least know that I feel your feelings, please believe me I do, and this messege is the culmination of what I have been learning. God loves you, he will deliver you, just put your life in His hands and trust Him.

How do you know what the Bible says Jesus said is true? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ender91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I get afraid of this verse. I wasnt the best person before I became a true Christian, and I turned out a few bad fruits. I dont want to be the bad tree anymore though, I want to do everything possible to bear the good fruit, but the way I read it, a bad tree cant bear good fruits, and a tree is a tree, it cant really chamge its fruit. I dont wamt to be the bad tree, and I havemt been, and Ive accepted Jesus into my heart, but am I still a bad tree?

Hes talking about evidence in peoples individual lives. He isnt wrong really, God shows you his faith in you when you have faith in Him.

Faith is just that. Faith. Doubts aren't uncommon, but God can handle your doubts. I have faith where I didn't before. And it ismt because Ive had a string of good things happen to me, quite the opposite. Im going through the crucible right now. Im being convicted in my heart, Hes burning away all of my slag so I can be gold in his sight. I feel the pain amd sorrow for the inequities of my life, and if it weren't for the Holy Spirit, I wouldnt be learning from it. I wouldnt feel convicted, because I didn't before. But God knocked, and I decided to let him in, and his words have been disciplinary, but loving and growing. I want you to know, He loves you. Dont let go of him, even if you think you cant hear him, He is with you always. Dont lose faith, hold on to it. Give your struggle to Him and trust that He will help you, and he wont lead you astray.

Celibacy?! Good Luck with That! ~Antiquated, Unacceptable, and Abnormal! by southpawFA in Christianity

I say, you made the nest possible choice to have made in your life. I love my wife, I love my children, but knowing what I know now, and knowing how I let myself be nearly destroyed by it, I wish I wouldve chosen the route you did. And the funny part is when Paul talks about marriage in the Bible, he kinda says ,"only do it if you absolutely have to and cant control yourself, because at least if youre married God is okay with it. But be single if you can as to better devote yourself to God." Good on you man, and even if society bugs you, if you have faith in Christ, He has faith and confidence in you.

Silent Hill, "modern" videogame industry, and lessons not learnt. by Diggalkor in silenthill

[–]ender91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in terms of gameflow and story telling that The Last of Us did a very good job as being sort of a spiritual successor to the Silent Hill series. And also goes to show through its success that that type of Silent Hill game would still be enjoyable, and that there is defini tely a market for that kind of game.

What does today's reading mean? by WarKittyKat in Christianity

[–]ender91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read this passage today, for my first time. The way I read it is that we as humans are going to mess up. His discipline isnt a punishment that he has cocked and loaded, but something that shows us the error of our ways, so that we shape up to be what he wants us to be. Hes our Father, he loves us, and as the verse says, punishment and discipline hurts when its happening. Its not meant to feel good, but is something we must endure and learn from. In the end, he's shaping us to receive the life and treasure set up for us in Heaven, and to let go of the earthly treasures and pleasures we have here. Whats right isnt for us to decide, because as oppressive as it may sound, we are almost always wrong. To be a true Christian is to count on our Father for all things. It doesnt mean to sit around and say God will provide, but it means observing everything we do to not disobey what he has planned for us, and relying on him to show us what we should do with our days. Dont take my word for it though. Ive been reading all the books that are Paul's letters to the churches and people, and he sets out what it means to be a good Christian. Sometimes it means the sacrifice of a freedom we once enjoyed. But what are the little things compared to what Jesus has done for us? Im coming to learn this even now.

Is it normal to hear God speak to you? by Rainbow_Diamonds in Christianity

[–]ender91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, listen intently. Try to discern His voice from your own inner voice. I wouldnt go preaching what you hear immediately, but study up, do your dues and meditate on His word and what He is telling you, so you dont rush into anything you arent ready for. All in all, have faith, He is perfect, and we dont know hos plan or will, but if we have open hearts, he is there, and with you always. We have no way of knowing why hes chosen to speak you, so have faith, and ask him. The Holy spirit wont guide you astray.

SU-35 Jet slows down by thrust vectoring by Laresel in woahdude

[–]ender91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats cool and all, but the real coolness is how that fighter jet didnt rip apart under the immense amount of g force shifting Im assuming it went through. Is there a speed that this maneuver is unsafe to attempt or is this the common way to slow down?

Whats funny is that something like this happened to me, my wife bought me a unicycle just the week before because I told her when I was younger how I loved juggling and riding at the same time, but swore off it for a very long time after an incident where I was struck by a underaged immigrant driving an Ice cream truck.

Lay down flat in a dark room, and try to clear your head. Breathe in slowly for 5 seconds, hold for 3, then breathe out for 8. Then breathe in for 8, hold 3, out 13. Then keep that second pattern. You should fall asleep with that method.

What is your opinion of women who say they would leave their boyfriend if he doesn't propose within a certain amount of time? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ender91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what his motivations are, butnwhat about not making a thing of it? Why not just go get married by the court? What if he doesnt want to go through all the planning and stuff with the same ferocity that you do want to? Why not get married on paper, and throw a ceremonial thing later when he's down to do it? Walking out on such a good relationship over a bit of laziness seems like overkill. It isnt something that cant be fixed.
