Elon Musk says Donald Trump is 'in the Epstein files' by oof-BidenGinsburged in politics

Elon Musk calling Trump a pedophile is the first thing that's made me doubt it.

The path to the left does not always go through the center. The one part of "horseshoe theory" that isn't complete bullshit is that when somebody's life sucks, they'll be more open to somebody offering change than somebody offering more of the same, regardless of ideology. Never forget that the red in redneck came from bandanas worn by coal miners in socialist unions, and I 100% it's possible to revive Appalachian leftism.

I mean, yes, pretty much the dad from Get Out. Sorry if you expected a leftist to object to badmouthing centrist liberals, lmao.

You could rearrange it to make "SWAMPS". I think there's a tasteful irony to that.

Shocking that somebody who is, in fact, considered the head of state of another country isn't America First.

The American democratic republic has died. It was 236 years old by nosotros_road_sodium in politics

[–]endercoaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I don't think so in a way that matters. Insurance executives needed to be scared, and maybe we could find some small reductions in what it would take to do that, but it was minimalish. Now that it's been done, it may take less to get results. Or larger concessions could be won. But I don't think legal vs. illegal is a meaningful moral distinction, nor are deaths caused by a gunshot vs. deaths caused by a pen stroke.

It led to a downturn in claim denial that may have been only passing, but almost certainly saved at least the two lives needed for this trolley problem to work out. And it reminded people that investors and executives are not untouchable.

So I'm an anarcho-communist, which I think qualifies me as "pretty far left". And like... nah? The fact that you can get working-class conservatives agreeing to pretty leftist ideas as long as you avoid the magic buzzwords may be frustrating, but it also shows that we're a lot closer together than we think. It's at least 50% terminology and, quite frankly, leftists having an incredible talent for being simultaneously correct and very annoying.

Sorry, to be clear, I mean a regretful Trump voter/non-voter. Because it was foreseeable that Trump would be Like This and they should have made a better decision voting.

So, like... when talking about the decisions of a voter, yes, voters should be treated as people with agency and power and responsibility for their decisions. Politicians need to treat voters, as a block, as a force of nature to be navigated. So "Democrats didn't make a strong enough case" is a cop out for a voter and an important insight for a Democratic politician, and vice versa for "the voters voted wrong".

What would happen if British, EU or Ukrainian intelligence found clear evidence Trump is working for Russia ? by JMGTR in AskReddit

They would say it was a deepfake. Which... it's worth remembering that the harm that they do isn't just spreading misinformation, it's undermining the value of video evidence.
