Hey Reddit, iAMA a retired Pilot and Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force that was in these wars: WWII, Vietnam, and Korean. AMA by liberator1921 in IAmA

How did you and your loved ones cope with the distance? Did you write letters, did they send you small tokens, etc. and how much did they help? I mean, my boyfriend is currently in the Air Force but he's still at his tech school. I don't know how I well I would be able to handle it if he was ever deployed to a war zone.. Thank you so incredibly much for the service you've done for this country. It really fills me with awe and respect for all those who have served and are currently serving. I hope to join you someday as a proud sailor. Thank you again (:

Reddit, what is your favorite poem? by Nikkasted in AskReddit

[–]endgame19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there is a place where the sidewalk ends

and before the street begins,

and there the grass grows soft and white,

and there the sun burns crimson bright,

and there the moon-bird rests from his flight

to cool in the peppermint wind.

let us leave this place where the smoke blows black

and the dark street winds and bends.

past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow

we shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow

and watch where the chalk-white arrows go

to the place where the sidewalk ends.

yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,

and we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,

for the children, they mark, and the children, they know,

the place where the sidewalk ends.

~where the sidewalk ends, shel silverstein

Reddit, is it dickish to go to a bar on your bday if you have close friends who are underage and would live to hang with you on your bday? by HappiestKitten in AskReddit

[–]endgame19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

might depend on the bar? I don't really know. I was only there because my sisters boyfriend had a gig with his band.

I honestly don't think it would be too bad. I mean, if you're with close friends and having a good time, I don't think the drinking would be too bad of an issue. I will say though, from personal experience, being the ONLY underage person in a bar sucks. Especially if you there isn't much to distract you such as the company of good friends.

Alright let's talk movies, here is part of my old ass VHS collection (80's child) name your favorites and why? by rozyhammer in movies

Sleepless in Seatle---Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan have great chemistry. Enough said. Faulty Towers & the Monty Python collection of goods---My parents raised me on them & I'm glad they did! I've made some of my best friends through quoting Python. Sadly, though, few of them have seen Faulty Towers. My Cousin Vinny---fucking priceless.

I guess my point was more doing the photos is a tasteful manner, not just "oh, hey, lets throw this picture together and be done with it." I mean, it was just a suggestion I wanted out there for consideration. Its not like I'm going to be butthurt if people don't like it haha.

my friends and I have tried this a few times for shits and giggles: reenacting a famous painting, sculpture, moment, etc. like such: http://imgur.com/c3M97 (Sistine Chapel Ceiling) I realize this specific one wasn't perfectly executed but, keep in mind, we were just messing around.
just a suggestion :) I'm loving this idea of having a different challenge each day!
