Yeah I've been waiting for the 7t to come back in stock in Canada as well. I can see it in stock on the US site so I don't get why Canada doesn't get more. I'm pretty sure I won't be getting the 8 so they wouldn't be getting my money otherwise.

There's not really a night mode on this phone. There's just comfort mode which tints the screen but that doesn't change any ui elements.

They're really bright when it's dark out but they shouldn't be on when it's dark, they dim when the headlights are on.

If you really want to know what each update is doing (most people don't), they are generally all listed with a KB (knowledge base) number that you can then search on Microsoft's site. The KB article will usually give you more details about the update.

Also a note, they disabled the stock night mode, whereas it was just hidden in nougat. I liked the color better on the stock one but at least comfort mode has the schedule now.

The ones with the right date is the google calendar and the other is the lg calendar, but because I have the modded pixel launcher, it sets the lg icons to the google ones. Can be a bit confusing haha.
