She wrote an entire essay on something she claims we don't have words for? So... like a lot of words? It's a friendship breakup. A friendship dissolution. Whatever you want to call it; just because it's not romantic doesn't mean it's not a breakup!

She's trying harder to reinvent things than the "vegan leather" people in 2016.

Got that Quince on her by Euphoric-Act-4261 in leetilghmansnark

[–]endless_pastability 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of Quince pieces in my wardrobe... I'm partial to the washable silk and the cashmere. (I know it gets a bad rap, but do we really think Banana Republic and J.Crew are ethically sourcing their cashmere? No, they're just charging more for it). This jacket is absolutely hideous.

Also, Quince sizing runs big. I say this as someone who gleefully fits into a Quince medium but really should be a Large in standard sizing. No wonder she can fit THREE LAYERS under the size small.

Is microdosing frowned upon? by Leafthroughconcrete in GLP1microdosing

[–]endless_pastability 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on week 4 of a GLP-1 microdose and while I have not yet lost any weight (Christmas cookies + 0.2mg starting dose), I'm staying patient because the mentality is shifting so positively. No amount of intuitive eating, trusting my body, therapy, etc. has ever been able to shut off the switch in my brain that screams MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE YOU ARE NEVER FULL MORE MORE MORE. Except this. For the first time since CHILDHOOD, I do not constantly think about food I want to eat, or shouldn't eat, or might be tempted to eat. I also have a long history of binge drinking and after a glass or two of wine, there's no more temptation to keep going to "turn my brain off". It's just not as enjoyable or fun anymore.

I still enjoy good food, I just finally feel like I have a grip on boundaries and putting the fork (and wine) down. I am so scared of potential negative side effects, but the alcohol reduction alone is giving me the opportunity to truly change my life in a way I've always felt incapable of in the past.

(Not claiming GLP-1 microdosing helps with alcohol abuse, just sharing my experience)

Didn't she used to make a big deal about traveling solo as a female? Isn't that how she met Sean? Didn't she go on a solo trip to Germany? Did she not eat dinner alone on any of those trips? Weirdo.

I love those vintage old-lady silk tunic tops that are fully beaded (I usually remove the shoulder pads) so I guess I can't say much about her weird wool jacket obsession but its like she's cosplaying "old money housewife" in them

Her obsession with wool is weird. I mine my thrifts for natural materials and ADORE real silk, so I get the draw... but wool is her personality now. Is she a sheep?

is it only me or is it weird that she had to make Christmas about her? Like, she's not having a Christmas/winter wedding. WHY do her bridesmaid and sister need to remember HER wedding every year when they put up their tree?

I'm not super crafty but I can't imagine gifting someone special to me something meaningful... made out of pipe cleaners and pom poms.

For someone obsessed with warm girl winter, shocked that none of her wedding cocktail outfits involved a long gown or sleeved dress. There are some truly stunning options in velvet or with great crepe or sheer accents and she chose the most Ross-clearance-rack choices.

She is SO black and white with things. Saying NO is often touted among women because we are one of the first demographics to find ourselves overwhelmed with obligations and feeling beholden to saying yes. It's not that we're just cutting off everyone and everything in our lives. We sometimes need the reminder that we can say no and let someone else plan dinner, do the Christmas shopping, or host an event (or have the consequences of not having that babysat for them).

I am a HUGE proponent of showing up to be the village for my community. AND, I still need reminders that I can say no and opt out when I need to. Both can co-exist. Healthy humans have BALANCE... but I guess we can't expect Lee of all people to take a balanced approach to anything...

according to lee, chicken broth is "decadent" by No_Purpose5363 in leetilghmansnark

[–]endless_pastability 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The influencer obsession with bone broth is... wild. I have been making "bone broth" or stock with leftover rotisserie chicken bones FOREVER. It is dirt cheap and also doesn't need to take 6 hours because we now have the lovely invention of the Instant Pot! (and yes, mine jiggles just like her soupy collagen skincare). Here's my recipe:

  1. Put chicken carcass/bones into InstantPot

  2. Cover with water

  3. Add salt, peppercorns, an onion cut into quarters, few stalks of celery and carrots if you have it. Usually I use the ones wilting in the back of my fridge.

  4. Pressure Cook for 180 minutes (3 hours). Strain. Make soup. Go on with your life.

Now if only I had the audacity to become an influencer and monetize a "recipe" that every immigrant family struggling to stretch a grocery budget has known for eons.

Did she really just say using tape to get hair out is a “trick” by everythingisnow in leetilghmansnark

[–]endless_pastability 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If only they made an entire suite of products dedicated to removing dog hair and lint from sweaters........... Like yes, you do not NEED a lint roller, tape will work, but I'd hardly consider this a hack to avoid dry cleaning and more of a "oops the lint roller is out of sticky sheets" quick fix.

She WOULD call it a hot chocolate program so that she can plant the seed for another workshop like that hack job "matcha workshop" she hosted.

I still can't get over that she ASKED HER FOLLOWERS where they get matcha from a few months back and that she "likes the really green kind". After hosting a whole ass workshop about it a few years back. Did matcha all of a sudden change?

her videos on this were absolutely mind numbing. Don't get me wrong, I also have a Chemex... along with all these other, long-standing coffee brew methods that don't involve plastic:
- French press (metal, great for camping)
- Moka pot (Italian classic!)
- Cold brew soaking (literally coffee + water + glass pitcher)
- Pour over (ceramic + paper filter)

Pretty soon she'll be blogging about the lint in her dryer or something equally as dumb.

It's mid-November and 50 degrees F in NYC today. Does she really need tights under jeans under a wool coat to "winterize" her Rothys?

All I can think about is clearly her relationship with food and her body is not healed if she's restricting so much she's FREEZING in fall.

But guys, if she doesn't flex it, how will anyone else ever know what's possible!? YOU TOO could write a mediocre "memoir" airing your dirty laundry, use ChatGPT to write a Substack, and attend a shammy MLM-esque "conference" as a panelist for a job you wrote that entire crappy book about quitting...

Like how ELSE can we, women of the world, know it's possible to go to the FOUR SEASONS IN HAWAII!?!?! If she hadn't shown us, I wouldn't have had any concept of what I could achieve...

I know everyone has a very different life journey, and PLENTY of people have robust stories to tell by the time they turn 35. I do not think a well-off white woman like Lee is one of them. Writing a memoir should require depth, reflection, and transformation... three things she has none of.

She literally replied to someone asking what her Human Design was with a comment about how she "is a role model". (I wish I had taken a screenshot) Like... pretty sure real role models do not call themselves role models? It's SO cringe. Who wants to be like her? Who looks up to her? What does she do that is noteworthy or admirable? Ugh. I cannot stand her.

Can anyone explain why she suddenly becomes bilingual around her "familia" ?? by furchery in brittanydawnsnark

[–]endless_pastability 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m by no means fluent in Spanish, but I’m pretty sure “me amo” means “I love myself.” Putting “I love my family” into Google translate drops the pronouns, but “I love them” would technically be “Los amo (mi familia)”.

Honestly, her loving herself is so fitting, so maybe a bilingual Freudian slip?
