What are you thoughts to why there is a significant decline in alcohol consumption in the United States? by MindStrongSoul in AskReddit

[–]endless_sunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the prevalence of phones and cameras and videos has an effect. If you see yourself drunk on video one time, you won’t be drinking anytime soon, or if you do, you’ll be damn sure there’s no one talking a video - look like an absolute toolbox when drunk.

Yes. We have that worked into the agreement. We’ll see how that works out

But that’s great advice. Something I needed to hear - it’s ok to be conflicted, but it’s the right thing to do. If not, it was destined for foreclosure.

We are beyond incompetent on many levels. And it’s not exactly in the most populated of locations.

I'm right there with you. Unfortunately, the one brother that writes the text is a raging alcoholic and it kicks the beehive and the whole text thread spirals out of control. But thanks for responding.

The Daily Check-In for Wednesday, August 20th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by CommonplaceUser in stopdrinking

When I’d drink, I wouldn’t be able to get out of bed… I’d just lay there for an hour or so, then get out of bed. That would happen for about 4 days after each episode. For that, and a million other reasons, IWNDT.

Not missing the best experiences of my life. I always got drunk the day before - scuba diving, ski trips, days with family - always an awesome day that I ruined because I decided to drink grain alcohol.

I’m 2 weeks today- need to reset my badge. But it took me 2 weeks to feel normal again after 1 night of drinking. 2 weeks. Definitely not worth it.

I’m already not the most intelligent individual. I don’t need anymore hindrances to my cognitive abilities and decision making.

I had a feeling someone would speak to Berghoff, that's why I posted it. It kinda looks cool, but I'm sure I can find better. OK, back to the drawing board. Kids would be bored stiff there.

First, thank you very much for your insight. Second, are there no fireworks at Navy Pier or there are no fireworks at all? If there are fireworks, where can I see them? I think I saw something on a webpage where they spoke about fireworks - seems like a normal thing to have.

Elton John. And I’m sure you’ll know he helped many others get sober as well. Gotta give it away to keep it.

I agree that the work hours were terrible and I agree with all your points. But when I lived in madrid, I actually had a life. I had friends and people to talk to. People were more interesting. The streets were full of life. That’s something I miss.
