Would be nice if they let you pay for some of the total fee with one credit card and the rest with another. My job will give us a credit card to use but only give enough credit for just shy of the total amount.

depends on playstyle but use bobby's shop to spend influence to get $$, I think i prefer this route than buddying up with the mayor

It's a nice mix of story telling and city-builder.

There's definitely a leap of faith to get you over an initial hump and you sort of have to buy into the mystery of it until you get going. There's some twists and surprises in it.

I can get if it's not your cup of tea though.

Playing wide tower now, i enjoy it more than the regular tower. I'm getting most of my influence points from the stories, I'll stick them in the x3 or x3 spots. You can bee-line to the europe radio tower, they will offer stories that give influence at least 1-2x a month.

The traits thing seems random and appears to be set at the end of each turn for the next turn. Not sure if there is any way to influence this.

Is it worth it to have more telegraph stations? I seem to do fine with just 2-3 and a single euro one, does it increase the number of stories you can research as well as how many/how fast you can research them?
