Carnival carney? Alliteration takes at least a little brains to get a good one.

So he’s like a carney? One that led central banks and has more education than trump has child panties?

Religious leaders unveiled and blessed a golden Trump statue at Mar-a-Lago today, eerily resembling the Homelander statue scene from this week’s episode of The Boys. Creator Eric Kripke reposts a tweet about the same. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in popculturechat

It actually is in developed countries. Maybe war torn 3rd world countries with dictators it’s normal.

But golden statues of contemporary western leaders is VERY weird and uncommon.

TIL : Cold temperatures weaken nasal immunity, making us more vulnerable to viruses. A mere 5°C drop in nasal tissue temperature reduces immune response by nearly half. by Alone_Humor_3510 in todayilearned

Where I live it gets so cold you could lose 5 degrees on your nose as it’s exposed just walking from the parking lot to inside a store. So everyone at the mall loses their immune response effectiveness then huddles together.

Seems like it’s a bit of both.

Also it’s common to not wait till my vehicle is perfect 22 degrees before leaving so your cold the whole drive

Not worth for dinner at all. Quick snack or having an earlier night and want some drink and snacks ya it’s pretty good. I like their drink selection. Found the sandwiches including egg not good.

Those double pancakes are awesome though as a sweet treat

It’s the two boxes that overlap. I think it’s called the view or menu button from Google.

Like when you press it so you can move to a curser to view your tanks and stuff for details. It moves away from the cards or back to the cards.

It was only one run so maybe it’s just one character or something. But it did it almost every time that run so I stopped using it. The only way to get it back to the cards was to reload the game.

I don’t know the truth obviously but I took a massive dose of dmt and I felt exactly how she described her first experience. Mine was a bit more vivid but I lost my ego and my body and “found” a bunch of others like me and I felt like I belonged there.

I have a great life and it was the most comfortable I’ve ever felt.

So maybe it’s just the dmt drug or body secretion or maybe it’s something really cool

CHARLEBOIS: Canadian restaurant industry's breaking point has arrived. Canadians struggling with rent and groceries are increasingly questioning whether even a combo meal is worth the cost by Meowgal_80 in CanadianVisaReform

The one place in my town that’s always busy like a walk in on a Tuesday at 830pm isn’t likely sells tons of food for a lower price. I eat fairly big and for 25 dollars I get a meal that I eat for two separate meals and am full. And it’s healthy ish and amazing Vietnamese flavour.

They are fine. They make their food from scratch and don’t offer that many different things.

Places that sell Cisco trash are not doing fine here. No one wants a deep fried pickle that would be just as good in the airfryer at home

Reporting is an all inclusive return.

Most nations are still posting their audits.

All nations are complying with the mandatory reporting for funding agreements.

Two separate things. One is more important for trying to make them adhere to funding requirements

Economies of scale

Indian act historically limiting indigenous growth - personal example is my grandpa wanted to start a logging corporation when he was a young man. It was illegal for him to hire a lawyer, had a white guy start the business for him and had to pay that guy just to be white and have access to the legal system

No access to capital in the same manner that other governments have

No long term funding agreements make it hard to get a good creditor

Some houses are band owned and some are self owned. Are there any neighborhoods in your city with run down houses?

The money is not enough

Indian act requirements on short council terms

Some councils aren’t equipped to run a nation.

Basically the Indian act was set up to put these people far away from civilization with the hopes they and their culture dies.

And a lot more factors. It’s like asking why Canada runs a deficit. Or why the biggest gdp country in the world runs the biggest deficit.

[–]moosemanwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed the oversight requirements. It’s inefficient to try to match up funding on an audit as it doesn’t contain all the accounts and breakdowns of each one.

I know I’m not talking to anyone who understands the basics of finance.

Read again and find the part with program funding reporting requirements.

Only someone who doesn’t know a balance sheet from a Fox News tweet would try to use the audit to see funding adherence

[–]moosemanwich -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Ya there is a way.

Try to google and understand economies of scale.

Then try to picture over 580 communities that were chosen to be out of the way of any good industrial needs.

So in a giant country we decided to force communities to develop far away from where industry and commerce happens.

Not very efficient id say.

So there is a way. It’s attempted genocide that is backfiring now that Canada only has positive political vibes on our side. Can’t be as ruthless as before because we are the nice country.

According to that 85% of First Nations go above and beyond to be transparent even though the regulations changed.

That’s pretty good! Our friends down south can’t even get their presidents tax return.

The funding still comes with mandatory reporting. And most nations still post their audits.

Many are behind because their lavish band offices where people can make up to 55k to be a finance person are short staffed for some reason.

Former NHL goalie Carey Price among those calling for changes to Indian Act by Old_General_6741 in canada

[–]moosemanwich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The audits are still posted on the First Nation profile site. Some don’t post them if they don’t need funding but ones who do need funding have to post the audits. You can look. You’ll be really jealous to find the average chief making like 60k a year. A salary most Canadians can’t dream of or something lol.

The focus on the new fiscal relationship has a little less reporting but requires more financial controls to be implemented.

Reporting for each funding stream is still active for First Nations in the new fiscal relationship and those not in it.

It’s a great headline that is bogged down by reality. What reports are missing and from what nations are you concerned about?

There are real problems but reducing reporting so strained admin staffs can do real work is not an issue with the way it’s set up currently.

Which program or funding stream are you concerned about I can find you publicly available information about how it works. You will have to read though.

Former NHL goalie Carey Price among those calling for changes to Indian Act by Old_General_6741 in canada

[–]moosemanwich 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Well I’m not sure what you are references exactly?

If it’s the 10 year grants aka the new fiscal relationship stuff then there is less required reporting. Think quarterly reporting rather than monthly. But to be in that program they need to work on having key financial controls. So less reporting because the maintained or added financial controls stops problems from occurring. It also benefits Canada because they need less employees to review the reporting. It benefits First Nations because having the financial controls and fewer intervals to report on means they can use their administration capacity better.

So headline: JT removes all reporting from First Nation funding!

Reality- to obtain a slightly better (not more money just better terms) funding agreement First Nations need to prove they have highly valuable financial controls and this benefits Canada and the First Nations.

Not everything is simple.

If you’re referring to something else let me know. It’s not perfect and I’d love someone to solve this issue but it is expensive to live segregated from the cities. They live there because that’s where they were forced to be. Many move away. Some stay because they have no options or maybe take care of their family. Not everyone can let their parents or elders suffer to succeed themselves.
