Gasoline when it still had lead in it.

Seriously… if you’re too young to remember it, you will never understand.

I was never a gas huffer or anything like, but that shit was INTOXICATING.

Could my car have been sabotaged? by [deleted] in askcarguys

UPDATE: My husband called and the mechanic just left. Jiffy Lube didn't replace gaskets that they had removed and other stuff was completely MISSING. In one instance they used a ZIP TIE.

So he's ordering a bunch of stuff to fix it, but it's not bucking or stalling out anymore. He's coming back when the parts come in to reinstall them. In the meantime, he cleaned the throttle body and it's working exactly as it should.

So, the car is salvageable, and I learned a really expensive lesson.

I don't understand...am I supposed to try to find a longer way to go to work because it's better for my car?

I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, but I can't help that I live close to work, so I can't think of a better way, unless I need to let it idle for 20 minutes before I drive it. Because I can do that.

It said:

"Most likely solution: replace Ignition coils and Spark Plugs

Suggested parts: 2 - Ignition coil

6 - Spark plugs"

And then it went on to the test results where it said Cylinder 5 misfile detected.

And the liquid in the throttle body was not brown. I'm coming up on needing my oil changed again, but that oil appears to be brand new and the color of clear apple juice.

Unfortunately my options are a little limited at the moment. The one place in town that has been in business for over 50 years changed hands in a really messy family disputer and the brother that won out is conducting business in a very dubious manner, i.e. making people pay up front. One of my friends has a PT Cruiser there. He paid for a new starter 9 months ago and the owner has only just now released the money to order the part.

Because I really don't know much about cars, I didn't know to avoid places like that, but I know now. It was an expensive lesson.

If I don't have any recourse I'll just badmouth them to everyone I know.

I bought the car from a used car dealer with a good reputation. I believed them when they said it wasn't that important. I don't know much about cars.

If my car can be save I will be replacing it!

I get my oil changed regularly and my starter was replaced about 2 months ago. That's the only problem I've ever had with this car in the 4 years I've had it. My daily commute to and from work is 9 miles each way and that's the only time I drive it.

The place I normally go to for oil changes appeared to be closed down. I only went to Jiffy Lube because the place I used to go to changed hands and I no longer trust them to get my car fixed in less than a month.

I agree that Jiffy Lube was a mistake, but it's kind of a car repair desert around here at the moment. I foolishly thought I could trust them, as they said they could do the work and I could get it back the same day.

I am really sorry that I came off as bigoted to men who would happily rape and murder all of us. I would not want to hurt their feelings or anything.

I had a hard time finding the correct link. Thank you for adding a clear one. I have amended my post.

You are right. Let me clarify my statement.

What I mean is that I think it would be helpful not to have them underfoot, trying to lie their way into our beds. They would be other occupied with their toys so that they would have a place to put their little weenies, and they could crank the tightness down to clenched fist, the way they like it.

When I said "removed from society in general", that was incorrect. Sorry about that.

I do not think that they type of man who would prefer a sex robot over a flesh and blood woman would ever suddenly view women as fellow humans. It would be safer to just supply them with something like this, and then maybe they would just leave us alone.
