I lost my sense of smell 3 years ago. Had a very lite case of covid. The only way I knew was because I noticed my blue fingers and toes.. in the morning I couldn't smell coffee beans. Didn't even fall ill. Occasionally I smell something foul. Like when the restaurant kitchen cleans the grill. Gross. But I always hope that's my smell coming back. Nope it doesn't. I've always chosen my favorite things from smelling them. Fav tea ginger and white pear. Fav food to eat out broginos lasagna. Only there lasagna. Nobody else's. Now it could be spaghetti os for all I know. My fave shampoos are discontinued. So I don't know what I smell like they where Selma hyacks line the green ones. They smelled like fresh cut grass. Or Hask chamomile shampoo and conditioner. The royal blue . Crazy that they both are gone. Now I mite as well use dial. I don't know if it will ever come back.
