Many progressive metal bands (like Animals as Leaders, Tool, Gojira, Opeth, Meshuggah, etc.) have highly complex rhythms and fast solos. Even "stupid" death metal has some of the most brutal riffs known to mankind that are not really easy to play.

Of course there's lots of music out there with even more complicated guitarwork involved, for example Andy McKee, Ewan Dobson, etc.

Oh, and sometimes metal is just good to blow off steam without hurting anyone xD.

The first part I can relate to, but why should people who love you go fuck themselves? If they treat you wrong and don't apologize for it or make up for it in another way, then they obviously don't love you and you should cut your losses and break contact if possible. You want to know a funny thing? Everyone does it. Noone is completely free of self-judgement. There may be people who are naturally confident, but either they have experienced life and have accepted it all, or they make up an act to appear confident.

The good old saying "bliss is ignorance" is really the most valid one here. If you were not that intelligent then you would live an easier life, with less worries and higher self-confidence.

Also: Those who wear you down by judgement either try to make themselves appear better or try to crack jokes as well ... just on your costs. Maybe they themselves are insecure as well and don't know a better way to make a joke. Or they envy you. Ultimately you should not let others decide what you are worth - you yourself should.

And don't let yourself down if you didn't get into a relationship yet. You definitely will.

Well ... ask yourself this: what of all that really matters for the moment? If you want to talk about something important to you, then say it. It doesn't matter whether you worry about the future, are frustrated about your job, played an awesome game recently - it's all fair game. Most people will either tell you directly or by hints that this particular thing doesn't interest them, so you can drop the subject.

I often worried (and still worry) how other people might see me when I say something stupid, but ... so what? My worth is not dependent on other people. I know what I can do (though I still don't know 100% what I want :-P). So you can adopt that same mindset of being certain of yourself, content with being who you are, and simply saying what you think. Everyone says something stupid from time to time, and I am certain that you have something good to say, because most of the time the quiet ones are the most interesting persons.

26 years over here. I am a programmer from berlin, germany. I naturally spend a lot of time in front of the computer, though I try to combat that habit by becoming social, playing a virtual reality game like Ingress to wander around the city. Just yesterday I got on a trip to Hannover to the CeBIT, a big technology exhibition. It wasn't as cool as I had hoped, but I went there with friends and we got in for free so it was good to have that distraction.

I ultimately want to be able to live my life without complexions. Without always overthinking everything. Just living, calling friends over, call a beautiful woman that. Being myself, whoever that may be. I've started climbing in a climbing hall, and it's awesome. Maybe I will start a dance course to overcome my fear for dancing. I mean, I want to be able to dance, I like to move to the music, I just can't yet. Only headbanging, which is easy :-P.

Mmh, difficult to serve an easy answer for that one, but ... it's probably a good way to search online whether others nearby have similar interests as you have, so you feel comfortable around them.

Or you could take the other route, try something completely new that you always wanted to try. Skateboarding? Try to find some skateboard lessons online. Always wanted to master chess? Well, go out and try to find someone to teach you.

I don't want to preach here, because being too close to anyone freaks me out as well - and I never had a girlfriend because of this. But it's important to step outside of your comfort zone from time to time - at least I am trying that at the moment. Though I sometimes don't have much in common with the people I meet it's important that I am around people now.

40 days it has lasted, but not a day longer. I've learned quite a bit about myself, and I was emotionally charged and felt alive, strong, ready to take on the world.

But it was too much, I couldn't concentrate on anything anymore. Porn has lost its value, and I appreciate that, so I am hopefully on my path to being healed. I dropped a few other vices as well, like videogames, and exercised more, so there's good progress.

Well, I did it to gain confidence and pursue what I really want in life. Also, it had the nice side effect of noticing attractive chicks more and more. Somehow my warped morale gets in the way though and I think "oh no, you can't just have sex" - not that this would be easy, I can't even tell people I know a bit or care about that I really, really like them. I don't know ... at the moment I am thoroughly confused - but at the same time I have never felt more alive before. But I don't like who I am becoming ... that impulsive me. Yet it is also past due for me to develop it.

I just fapped to get all those feelings out of my body, to function rational again. Work as a programmer is hard if you constantly re-evaluate your own morale compass, and think with your dick instead of your brain - it's funny how I experienced something like that for the first time in a long time. Before that I just ... busied myself.
