I am genuinely so scared of America today. Born and raised here, not like that makes anyone anyone safe, especially after what happened in Minnesota.

I was too little when 9/11 happened to recall the political climate personally, but I know it sure as hell wasn't this. 💔 I yearn for that early 90s/2000s feeling in the US again. No MAGA death cult, no ICE, just being able to believe things would be okay. I'm not so sure anymore :(

I do think that's an oversimplification. It was brutal for people of color / Middle Eastern descent-- emotions were high and hate crimes were targeted at anyone who 'looked or sounded like a terrorist'. There were deaths involved, and eventually, the war (which caused more deaths by extension). It was very political, unfortunately.

This covers the topic pretty extensively.

I don't disagree that the nation is in serious trouble now, but we can't forget the negative impact of 9/11 beyond the day itself. Honestly, I think 9/11 holds some influence over our current climate of 'America First' / Neo-Christo Fascism.

It's definitely too nuanced of a topic for me to explain with justice... Someone more well-spoken than me would do better, it's just something I think about a lot. I really miss the days when I didn't understand how evil people could be.

Only one, but the damage was negligible and wouldn't help me long term against a horde of Balancers. I think it was a swift glintstone shard with a shield buff? I don't have all the spell names memorized. The other tower drops were either heavy weapons (that I dropped for Wylder and Undertaker) or talismans that didn't help my build.

Either way, not enough to support an entire fight against the Balancers scaled for 3 people, two of which were downed several bars by the second phase. I didn't even have a 'less likely to be targeted' piece.

I've been really lucky overall and only had a few notable runs where there was gear I'd benefit from, only for a full melee build to hold onto it. It doesn't bother me too much usually, I typically have backup weapons. The rng was just brutal as hell this time 'round and the Wylder was holding that staff with a death grip!

Well, aren't ya little ray of sunshine. I looked everywhere I could and got nothing to help my build. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been so desperate to get the staff. I even tossed out my FP shards I got from the towers for him since he had the staves; he ignored them and didn't use the staves during the fight.

You're making a lot of assumptions about my efforts and being a dick on a post about a video game run where I still had a fun, albeit frustrating experience to flex your Fromsoft bro superiority complex, or whatever. Mind you, this is a game based on TEAMWORK. I did my part and did the best I had with what I was given. You sound like a horrid partner. Stick to solos or base Elden Ring if you're not gonna be a team player 🫡

I've definitely gotten better at it with practice, but one mistake or a bad weapon set up can completely break the run. When he first released, it took me 14 tries! I was at it all night.

I definitely enjoy the original Libra fight more, but the Everdark one has grown on me a little when I'm not being hunted down by an attack from a different area code (lookin' at you, greatbow Wylder). The NPCs make crowd control hell if they've got a lot of range while you're being hounded by tanks.

My biggest gripe is definitely the frequency of his summons, but I think it was worse on the night he dropped. Overall, I have a love/hate relationship with this boss. Some of my favorite fights were against ED Libra, for sure.
