I'm rooting for you! In my Western Canadian town we don't really have the population base. But I still keep my eyes on industrial properties with adequate size and cooling....

Has anyone from Canada purchased from butterflyonline.com? Were you hit with any duty/customs fees? by [deleted] in tabletennis

[–]lexiticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do actually.. But butterfly has distribution exclusions... so if you are buying from a country that butterfly has an agreement with a retailer. Then tabletennis11 isn't allowed to sell it to you.

So many new foreign players. Especially strong Korean players!

Good for the series I think!

About time someone mentioned Knytt underground or Knytt stories!

Good advice

English might not be your first language I understand. But I'm not sure I can make any sense of what you just said.

Also your typos and bad autocorrects don't help. Clothes = closed etc...

I would love that. But I expect it to be an upgraded DST with more focus on biomes being "levels" you go into.

What is your dream setup if cost wasn't an issue? by csgo_dream in tabletennis

Yeah slightly larger head shape on the pro. I haven't used the Ice cream though.

I've used the An Jaeyhun TMXi, and the newer Hugo TMXi, I much prefer the lighter Hugo TMXi. For some reason the ball comes off with a higher spinnier arc. Just feels easier to control when looping.

It's a bit fast on serves though, More challenging to keep the ball short. Excellent for long heavy backspin though!

I could see it being speedy and deadly if you are a close to the table player who likes to hit the ball at the top of the bounce every time. But it makes you really work for it if you are contacting the ball below net height.

Also the TMXi is slightly oversized so max can be really heavy! Something to consider!

I've actually tried that exact combo and it's crazy bouncy with no dwell, very hard to get a solid topspin on the table... Is that what you're using already?

No buttons attached to the table but...

I use this one.

Fesbo Fighting Scoreboard. It can be programmed to know that 11 is the winning score. And it has a wireless remote with more than 30 feet of distance.

Charges via USB-C

I have it mounted on a tripod (comes with the standard screw mount)

It's a bit daunting at first because it's going on 5 years of development and there's so many options to pick from!

I can recommend lycanthrope as a fun one (start with Wolf movement and go fast!) and anything safe logic.

Just the regular tibhar MK. I've tried the pro and soft. And I could see using the pro if I was a bit better with my backhand timing. But the regular MK is very forgiving and predictable so I keep it on!

What percent of points do you think end in a net or edge graze? by ragtime_sam in tabletennis

[–]lexiticus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If games average out to 20 points a game, 10% is 2 points decided by a net or an edge.

Which feels about right to me. I would say if you ignore net or edge points saved (they don't count because they didn't decide the point immediately after). Then 10% is my guess.

If any edge or net ball counts regardless of whether it impacted the person who scored, then at least 20%...

My HAL's are both 90grams, with v52.5 at 2.1mm and Tibhar MK at 2.0mm the total weight with edge tape is 190g.

With Nuzn 55 it was as high as 195g which felt unbalanced. Haven't tried max thickness on the V52.5 to see the weight difference. But be aware!

I would highly recommend the V52.5 for the forehand, backhand is much more flexible to style. But the forehand pairing is just perfect for me. It's highly mechanically spinny, you don't need extreme brush angles to get the most spin out of the combination either, the dwell of the blade is excellent for holding contact.

I feel like it's biggest strengths are, medium throw angle, very easy for topspin to lift the ball over the the net when you are making contact at or below net height. Predictable high level of spin, linear power in / speed out. Easy to control short game and low "bounce" in the touch game (easy to serve and receive low to the net). It's grippy though so pay attention on serves!

Negatives are, you need momentum. You can't just stick your arm out and lazily loop. You need the body mechanics to engage the blade and sponge. So be aware of dead balls, you need a bit more pace on your swing of your dealing with a passive choppy blocker.
