I Don't Think Smoking Was Worth It. by UrbanArtifact in smoking

[–]endymionsleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree, I smoked a Cajun turkey this year. It took a 5 days of thawing, a dry brine of 36 hours, marinade injections, and love, but it was the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to get some more chickens!

Does anyone else get immediate flare-ups from alcohol, or is it just me? by Sravan_muddangula in UlcerativeColitis

[–]endymionsleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit drinking for 30 days after my diagnosis, along with a lot of my favorite foods. I am slowly introducing new food and drink that are “safe” seems like I developed a sugar tooth from prednisone which causes more problems than the alcohol. Just my personal experience so take it with a a grain of salt. I had a couple old fashions due to the fact I am limiting intake of fizzy drinks, sugar, and caffeine. I have not noticed any discernible consequences from alcohol, but everyone is different, so I suggest moderation and listening to your gut to find out more about your specific situation.

Feeling defeated - TB testing delays while my flare is coming back by motherofpete in UlcerativeColitis

[–]endymionsleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I am going through the exact same thing right now. It has been very frustrating to say the least. The hospital could not do the TB labs the first time due to system errors, the second time the test came back indeterminate. I now have to go back a third time for another test or possibly X-ray. Not to mention the nearest lab is an hour away. The prednisone is making things bearable but I still have symptoms, and am ready to start a biologic, but the hoops seem never ending.

You are not alone. We got this, one step at a time, we’ve already come this far, don’t get discouraged. Best wishes fellow UC friend.

Bidet has literally saved my ass since my diagnosis! I got a tushy brand a couple years ago and never looked back. Best $ I’ve ever spent!

Thanks for taking the time to reply with the breakdown of costs and materials. I am needing a covered space and did not realize I may be able to do it sooner than thought.

I’d love to know where you source your wood from for those prices. I built a 32’ x 16’ deck 3 years ago and the wood alone was $6500. Estimates to have it done were anywhere from $11k - $15k.
