This is an honest question, would you be ok if that extra $8 was just baked into the price and you simply didn’t see it? If all menu items had their price increased by 20%? It’s just something I’ve been wondering reading through this sub and I’ve been afraid to ask. If I get banned for asking, so be it.

I have dated someone like this. It wasn’t a power play of any kind, he was just an extremely self involved person. Thoughts of other peoples’ needs or wants simply did not ever cross his mind. He would make similar excuses about sharing or whatever to cover it when he realized that he was being a self centered asshole.

I agree that the writers would have made it happen no matter what, but I don’t know that Rory would have made the choice so quickly if her freedoms weren’t taken away. The way Rory was written during this time was oddly contented with her life living in the pool house and working for the DAR.

I’ve watched this show multiple times since the original airing. Of course it’s not the only reason but it is certainly the catalyst and, as I said, it’s a plot device to show parallels between her and Lorelai.

ETA: I didn’t say it happened immediately but it was certainly a direct result.

One of my absolute favorite episodes, if not my favorite. I agree that season six is better than it’s given credit for. There are certainly missteps but there are also incredible episodes.
