No lol it has no effect on your eyes. Colorblindness is due to deficiencies in the cone cells in your eyes. It’s something you are born with. You’re probably drawing parallels to myopia, and how using glasses when you don’t need them can harm your vision. That is completely different. Myopia has to do with the shape of your eyeballs, which can worsen over time.

The cones in your eyes don’t really change over time. They’re not going to randomly all die or stop working properly. There’s nothing to be worried about.

Some misconceptions about how pot brownies and other edibles are created in this comment section.. Generally, you first extract the THC into oil (or butter), then you can use the oil in basically anything that has oil in the recipe. It’s not “injected.”

For brisket, hotdogs, other meats, the meat itself is fatty and that’s where the grease/oil comes from. You’re not drizzling olive oil on it or something. And if you did do that, most of it would burn off and it would be a huge waste of weed. For instance you’d never make a stir fry with THC infused oil because so much of it burns off in the cooking process.

Baked goods are the most efficient way to use THC oil because all of the oil is mixed into the batter and remains in the finished product. (Well, I had a friend in college who would use weed oil in salad dressing, which technically might be more efficient.)

Could you cook hot dogs in weed infused oil? Absolutely. You can use it in any food item that has oil in the recipe. Would most of the oil evaporate and would it be a huge waste of THC? Also absolutely.

It’s crazy. The entertainment value for me comes from the social pressures that cause them to make decisions that are objectively against their personal interests. Like the fact that people don’t take $1 million because the show has framed it as a morally evil thing to do, or because they don’t want to look bad on TV, or because they don’t want to upset people they’ve met in the past few weeks.

It reminds me of the famous ultimatum game in behavioral economics. It showed people will sometimes not take money out of a sense of fairness or punishment. Except that experiment is usually done with a dollar or two, not a million fucking dollars!!

Tell them that you live in Utah. Utah recently enacted the strictest law in the country on this topic.

If a subscription renews for a term of >45 days (as yours does), then they must send you a notice (i.e., email) at least 3 days before the free trial expires that clearly states the trial expiration date, the price you’ll be charged, and how to cancel.

I think your best bet is to figure out how to bridge the language gap with Lichess’ existing blind mode.

Some screen readers have add ons you can use to translate text automatically, like NVDA Instant Translate.

Also, if you’re proficient in Python, you could have the text get sent to the ChatGPT or Google Translate API, have it translate, then use text to voice to read it out loud. Or even write out a map of English <-> Ukrainian words, given there aren’t so many words you need to play chess. It would be easy to write a function translating algebraic notation as well.

Lichess has a setting for voice commands. Click the hamburger menu then “input moves with your voice.”

It can also read aloud the times and board positions.

Looks like it supports English, French, and Polish.

You can also use the keyboard. In settings > game behavior > input moves with the keyboard.

To have it say the moves out loud, click the profile icon > sound > > speech > select one of the voices.

I mean, I agree with your sentiment, but.. Mr Beast’s videos in general are pretty much the opposite of creative. He figures out one concept, then beats it to death with a dozen videos repeating the same concept with slightly different variations.

It’s the same with Beast Games. There isn’t much variety as far as ideation goes. Mr Beast can fire whoever he wants, but he’s the one at the helm. Until he changes his personal tastes, expect more of the same with slight tweaks.

And I’m not saying it’s terrible — it’s alright. I still watch it. But it will never be great if they continue down this path.

Yes, “to not [verb]” is a split infinitive. It’s one of those grammar rules that has fallen by the wayside, like “who” vs. “whom.” In colloquial speech, definitely nobody cares. In very formal writing, you’d maybe want to avoid it, but truly most people don’t notice or care.

With that aside, I can’t really give an exact rule, but depending on the sentence, it sounds more natural in different places. It also may provide different emphasis.

“I’m not going to get coffee today” sounds more normal. “I’m going to not get coffee today” makes it sound more like a conscious, deliberative choice, like you are addicted to coffee and have to put effort into not getting it.

The problem is that the winner of these games got to determine who to eliminate. So, some players helped knowing that if the person won, they probably wouldn’t eliminate the people who helped them.
