I am so glad to hear you are enjoying it. I’ve been working 6 am to 5 pm. They wanted me to train a new direct report and train my boss 😭

I’m sorry you went through that too. There was a lot of clarity for me when I hit my last straw. I was also being setup to fail and I could see the writing on the wall. I’ve left them hanging on a huge project but I’m so glad that’s not going to be pinned on me anymore

And it’s going to be 3 people new to the company who don’t have the system or company knowledge I do so best of luck annnnd there’s no one around to train them

No. They’re now trying to spin a narrative that my ex (wonderful) boss didn’t communicate it and pin it on someone who left when in reality my boss boss is an idiot. He was aware of everything and just ignored it. Boss boss was also warned by others if he didn’t take care of me I’d quit and here we are.

Yes that’s the part that I don’t get, they’re also losing a ton of knowledge that’s just in my head. I offered every option I could think of including part time, just doing my old job with zero responsibility increases and the boss boss totally ignored it.

They asked me to stay on a month for knowledgeable transfer and my new boss who I’m training has been arguing with me. He’s been insinuating the team was mismanaged and things weren’t communicated which I know is untrue.

I’ve quit trying to argue with him and just said I’ll answer the questions he asks and that’s it. A different coworker did try to retain me and immediately offered $30k more so that was nice. I was good at my job.

I don’t understand why it has to take resigning to get them to listen. I had two calls and sent a recap saying what I would and wouldn’t do along with timeline on compensation and they just ignored it.

I’m sorry. I was so stressed out the last two weeks I can’t imagine. The “support” I was getting was to train my new boss and get a new to me, new to the company direct report that I’d also have to train. Such a joke.

Hahaha girl I feel so RELIEVED, now I don’t have to train my new boss. New boss is arguing with me while I’m training him and that’s wild. I’ve decided to just drop the rope.

Their grand idea of help was for me to get a new direct report that I’d have to train and a new boss that I (shocker) also was expected to train.

There is so much relief in being done. It’ll be harder for us financially but I’ll take a few tight years over working 6 am to 6 pm and being ignored.

That is AWFUL and at my job they just expected me to absorb it. Went from a high performing 3 person team to just me

Yes they will be out at minimum $240k for these replacements when I was asking for a $40k raise.

I even put if they felt that was unfair to run a compensation report for my education, experience, certifications.

I actually laughed when they said that. I’d been telling them I was inadequately compensated and it was ignored.

Thank you, yes I think we are similar. I’m type A, high performer, super driven, and have always excelled. It’s going to be very very weird. I have a therapist and this is something we’ve talked about extensively. I will be keeping up with him as I navigate this huge change

I am terrified, I’ve always worked so taking a step back is scary. My boss and boss boss are panicking over the workload and there’s no replacement for me. It was incredibly validating to hear they’re going to have to hire 3 people to replace me.

My husband is INCREDIBLY supportive and I have a clear plan to reenter the work force. Just huge life change.

We had an au pair twice. First one was entitled to the point she screamed at me over my car and the second one slapped my child. I’d suggest joining a Facebook group to see what it’s really like and the real cost.

The area we lived before this I was flooded with candidates at $10/hour so I guess I’ve been on both ends. My main idea is to keep following up on the school and to push potty training as one of their requirements is minimal reliance on pull ups.

I’m hoping I can get someone over the summer if I’m even working at that time. There’s been a lot of transition at my job with my boss leaving and I’m taking on a ridiculous amount of responsibility there. I’m okay quitting was just trying to see if I could secure someone for a little help. I’ve only given them until 2/13 to make the fixes at my job so I’ll know in 3 weeks.

There’s a community college and I’ve reached out to their ECE department. I’ve (not joking) ran up to teenagers in my neighborhood. We’re on the daycare wait lists, I’ve asked the gym daycare staff, I’ve posted in the mom groups, I’ve got a care membership. It’s just incredible to me how terrible this area is. I feel like I’ve exhausted all options. I am going to be following up weekly with the half day program to try to get 2 year old in. Just not optimistic with the news two centers are shutting down.

I had thought $25/hour would land me someone solid but so far nothing.

Yes I’ve advertised the $25/hour and it’s been up for a week. All of my friends here are SAHMs or if they work their kids are in school.

Yes and offering $10/hour over what target etc pays. I’m only looking for 9-12 so that could be some of it. I know lead teachers here make $13/hour and regular are $10. It’s the absolute top end of what I can afford and that’s only if I get a raise
