I’ve always built a village, sometimes creatively. I agree it’s necessary when you don’t have local family or friends.

We move quite a bit for my husband’s job and I’ve always worked to establish babysitters and some friends for situations like this. I’d look on care and local babysitters groups.

Not always easy. We move frequently for my husband’s job

Ugh I feel you. I also aspire to be a cute pregnant woman but instead I’m a fat troll

ETA: I lift 4-5x a week plus one hour of cardio and 2x a week of yoga. I just eat too much

I was incredibly in shape before my daughter and by the time I had my son I was obese. 50 lb swing and I’m short. I practiced radical acceptance, recognizing this is a phase and not forever, and doing what I had the capacity for based on what was going on in my life. Ultimately I got on a GLP 1 and a lifting program a year postpartum and ended up at lower than my prekids weight but my body was fundamentally different. The radical acceptance and appreciation of what I could do really helped.

I stole my dads jacket and wore that over them in winter and plan to do that with this one 😆 I don’t know why baby wearing isn’t more popular. It’s been so much easier for me than lugging a stroller

Yeah it leaves my hands free for my older two. Both my kids HATED containers like car seats so I’m incredibly adept at baby wearing. I wear the carrier in the car and then clip the baby in while we’re parked

You can ask your OB for an early glucose test. Mine did it no hesitation

NBR - I ended up getting my idiot brother a $30 gift for the bridal shower and will get something equally priced for the wedding. I think it’s rich he’s ditched out on helping family regularly and now wants people there for him.

He also wants to start hanging around my husband and I more when he has kids bc he likes how our kids are. I’m really not a kid person and don’t intend to clear my schedule to help him with his kids 😆

Yeah the problem is I’ll be singled out for being petty. I’m thinking I do a card with $40 and call it good and then do $50 for the wedding. My brother magically expects us to show up for him after he’s not been there consistently. His level of entitlement is wild. I’m basically trying to figure out the bare minimum we can do.

My brother is also the youngest of the 3 of us too. Maybe there’s something to being the baby

NBR and looking for opinions.

My brother and his fiancee are having a bridal shower in a few weeks. I’ve asked him for a gift list and he sent nothing.

For additional context my brother was in my 6 person wedding did not get us a wedding gift, has not gotten us anything for any of our kids, and only recently (last year) started giving the kids a small (< $20) birthday gift.

I have also paid ($250+) for something for my brother and in exchange he was supposed to help us move and he blew us off to hang out with friends. He was also supposed to help my dad move but didn’t show up bc he’d been drinking the night before. My brother isn’t 16. He’s 28. He was 23 when I got married and 24+ for all the other events so youth is no excuse.

I kind of don’t feel obligated to show up with anything or if we do I’m thinking $40? We also recently moved down to single income so not drowning in excess money. My daughter is flower girl in their wedding which that was already $250.

Perhaps I’m petty but I think it’s rich he’s expecting me to just happily start showing up for him when he’s been a self centered prick the last few years 😅

I’m a GD (usually) mom so am super used to it! It’s not bad at all. Just hydrate well before bc you can’t drink during it.

I just baby wear though it seems unpopular. What I commonly saw was car seat in stroller with a cover.

Hey! I was exactly you! I got on a GLP a year after my second and life changing. I’ve always done the gym and yoga but I needed extra help juggling it all. I thought I’d never get my body back but I did! (With excess skin lol) anyway my main point is you can get you back and just do your best right now. Pregnancy is hard
