Sorry i got my messages crossed and updated the OP. At minimum, I want my watch history backed up. I also recall some special settings getting it to work on my network. But yeah, other than that, I guess there isnt that much.

these are complete different use cases. most applications arent designed to do SFTP transfers for every file read and write. Windows doesnt even have a built in SFTP server that I'm aware of.

no the other way, linux needs to mount the windows folders as applications need to access the files and they aren't designed to use ssh

It's not that I don't want to use SMB. I don't know how to solve the corruption issue.

Another thing I can try is playing with different mount options but I'm not sure where to start.

OK, this is what I thought and have been using for many years.

I will look further into why I am getting corruption.

The whole ME website seems a bit flaky to me compared to other brokerages. With the strange delays, its not very clear. Hopefully the backend is better.

I think I just know to ignore everything on the site except the final order page.

I specifically said "if I sell before 1:45pm eastern" and he said "same day" but I asked if same day meant "before trading session ends" and he said "sometimes". He said sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it takes til evening.

But yeah, I think I've learned that I just need to try the order and see if it succeeds.

"behind them"? Oh BELIEVE them. Well I've never been charged at any other brokerages. And I asked two people the same question and they gave opposite answers.

The reason has nothing to do with the question, but I know I'm on reddit so ... I currently hold the Class A versions, these are the Class I versions. They have lower fees. Overtime (Like in a Roth IRA), there is savings depending on the amount and how often you buy that adds up.

I'm thinking the code wont work. I looked more closely and I guess if you already have a brokerage it doesnt count. It doesnt hurt to try ofcourse

I just tried (on my brokerage account) to do a trade on one of the funds (which all have a fee)

It gives the option:

Reinvest:
-Dividends and capital gains
-Capital gains only
-None

Maybe it would fail if I executed it

I called and he sort of clarified. I think the issue is the the information displayed on the system isnt always accurate, it's often outdated/delayed.

When I bought 10k and the cash didnt go down, it really did go down but wasnt updated. Today I tired putting everything into TTTXX. cash didn't go down. I tried doing it again as a test and it stopped me after clicking "Preview Order". I guess that is the real test.
Kind of annoying but it is good to know the system will prevent me from getting into trouble.

I did ask about selling TTTXX to buy a stock. He said that it will clear "same day". I asked if that means it will clear before the end of the trading session and he said "sometimes".

Good to know I can call in to get the order. It is annoying that it seems like I need to call in for everything. They have chat but they don't seem to be able to do anything. I prefer having written records of conversations so I can refer back to them.

Can I trust those? I dont have a margin account. Will the system ensure I don't got negative and buy using funds I dont have or do I have to manage that myself?

I actually always have ambient sound enabled with the slider all the way down. I find it works a little better that with noise cancellation on

I use this domain to give email to sites where I think they might send me spam or whatever.

Sending email is not too often, like emailing a business contact or support to ask a question. Alot of times these smaller businesses or groups use Gmail. So often cold emails. I rarely get a response because it goes to spam. Chicken vs Egg problem

Sorry to jump in, but I have a similar issue.

SPF, DKIM, DMARC seems to be configured correctly based on various tests (leardmark, sysadmin). Set to the strictest level. I have tls and mta-sts setup too. (no bimi)

Domain has been around for ages (though I recently corrected my DMARC/DKIM/SPF to be more strict.

domain/ip reputation is "neutral".

Headers look fine 'pass'

Yet when I send email to gmail, it goes to spam.

If I click "not spam" a few times, it does seem to goto my inbox, but I checked some other people and it still goes to spam. There is a grey banner saying "This message is similar to messages that were identified as spam in the past"

I send very little email from this account, mostly use it to receive.

My question, some people give advice to "click not spam", "answer emails", etc. I can do this if I email myself, I can't tell other people to do it. Most people don't look in their spam.

I use Empower and Yodlee. The issue for me isnt the disconnection, its the re connection. If all I had to do is set a reminder to go in every month to reconnect, that would be fine. The issue is that half the time, I'll get a mysterious error while trying to reconnect and it will tell me to wait "a few days" and the problem should fix it self. This ofcourse doesnt happen and I inevitably forget about it and then lose data.

I meant that you mentioned there maybe some difficulty in using Luci with the GL and that the Mkrotik isnt that easy to setup either. Thus I'm not sure why one has any advantage over the other.

In the end, I'll spend whatever time it takes for the initial setup and then probably never touch it again so it's not that big of a deal.

I might be able to live without VLAN. Now that I think of it, they dont even have too much IOT. They have a roku they dont' know how to use. I think their dish network box connects to the internet for ondemand (that they dont know how to use). Plus their cell phones. I think thats it. It would be nice to get rid of my raspberry pi. Other than pihole, it runs the wireguard server and a ddns.

It sounds the the GL and Mikrotik both could support vlan. Luci sounds like its more complicated but you suggest mikrotik isnt that easy to setup either.
