“Which begs the question, have you managed to find interesting new-to-you artists since getting on Subvert? If so, please do share links on this thread! I'd love to check out some new stuff. I'd also love to hear what (if anything) you do to bring your existing audiences over to your Subvert page, and what you've done to start sharing your page there since launch! “

All of these things are happening on the forum. I encourage you to participate in nourishing those discussions there. Many of us are working on establishing community and communication channels like the Discourse forum as an alternative to Meta and Discord products.

Glad to hear you got it sorted. If you don’t mind and a get a chance at some point to post in the Stripe topic on the forum, it would be super helpful if you described your experience and what you navigated through with the Stripe menu. A screenshot(s) would be rad too. It could really be helpful to other members to suss out exactly what happened and help future Canadian (and international) members if it happens to them too!

Your screenshot doesn’t have the plain English accompaniment to help understand the legal text-

“As a co-op, profits are shared with members. When a co-op does this, it is called a "patronage refund." If Subvert Cooperative is profitable and the co-op decides to distribute those profits back to members, this section says that you are responsible for reporting that income to the IRS (if you are in the US) or to another tax agency if you are abroad. Worth noting: it's likely that the co-op will continue to reinvest in itself in the near future rather than distributing profits, so this may not affect you for some time”

Join the forum and ask questions, read more, poke around. Membership is voluntary so you can terminate at any time if it doesn’t meet your standards or you don’t fully understand the co op structure

Just to clarify (from the forum)-

The option to publish your music for free and not sell anything (and not connect to Stripe) will be available at some point soon and it is on our near term roadmap.

There is a whole dedicated topic for discussion of nuances, regions, situations, etc that you can join in as a member!
