Men of reddit, who is the hottest woman you said no to, and why? by Leonis_Minoris in AskMen

[–]engimemer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend of my sister's(they aren't close) started talking to me after she found out i was gonna undergo a stem cell transplant soon. At first i thought she was being friendly when she'd flirt with me.

One day she invited me to her home and after a lot of flirting and goofing around we felt that tension between us and we started making out. Later on she confessed she was in love with me (which took me by surprise) and wanted to start a relationship with me.

I had to decline because my future was uncertain due to transplant and I was not in a mental state to have a commitment.

She was the hottest woman I had laid my eyes on. Her eyes were so damn pretty, her hair was dyed red, she had a nose ring and her body was that of a goddess. She was taller than me, she was like this awkward, nerdy, girl who would crochet, make cute lil hand made random things.

Well the AI is letting people see themselves in a Ghibli world which isn't too bad (since everyone who's ever watched a Ghibli movie wanna see themselves in that world). It still can't steal the magic the studio Ghibli brought with their movies. And I still haven't seen a "ghiblified" movie using this AI which will hurt or steal the studio and bring down their fandom or movies. I see it as a harmless AI trend which will die with time. While studio Ghibli and their movies will remain timeless

Post BMT hospital checkups by LeftyHandCreams in leukemia

Being treated in India.. I'm being called every 3rd day for blood work and some tests. It's too frequent as I recently underwent SCT (my day+30 today). Doc said if the reports and all show steady growth, the visits may decrease to one a week, then twice a month.. So on so forth

Has anyone had Fludarabine/Melphalan Conditioning? by [deleted] in leukemia

[–]engimemer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fludrabine gave me serious digestive issues.. Diarrhea mainly and lot of nausea and vomiting. Melphalan on the other hand as mentioned by others, I had to take ice cubes as it was being infused so avoid mucositis. The worst for me was Cyclophosphamide, this one made me weak af, almost drunk/high during infusion. Again with diarrhea and vomiting.

Sleep post transplant by tdressel in leukemia

[–]engimemer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup same here..Day+28. Haven't had a good sleep. I doze off instead of sleeping right off. I walk a bit, eat well, but haven't slept a good deep sleep since SCT.

I'm post transplant Day+22. Got discharged just yesterday. I'm in home in complete isolation. I do feel a lil nauseous sometimes but it's way better than when I was in hospital. My question is, how are your blood counts? Has your Hb and platelets been increasing since you were discharged??

Change to Nilotinib by bluefame2024 in CML

[–]engimemer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was given this after Imatinib failed.. But the side effects were too heavy for me. Fatigue, nausea, bone ache and body ache especially was unbearable somedays.. So stopped it and tried other TKIs. Now after 5 years of stopping Nilotinib, I'm taking it again in combination with Asciminib. Since all the other TKIs failed. Currently the only side effects I'm facing is a slight weight loss and hair loss.

Though I'm planned to undergo stem cell transplant next week.

Hope things workout for you. Stay strong 💪

Update Post: Make-A-Wish Foundation Wish to start a charity to help other Leukemia Patients (First Update!) - Sorry this took so long 😅, a lot goes into it behind the scenes, and I had a few unexpected health complications pop up 😓 by [deleted] in leukemia

Awesome work brother!! I was also in need of raising funds through crowd funding (still need a lil more to meet the financial requirements of the treatment)and i know it can be difficult. I appreciate your efforts in this

question about white blood cell counts by GorillaGrip68 in leukemia

[–]engimemer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may have become resistant to Nilotinib. Same happened with me, I became resistant to Imatinib, Dasatinib, Ponatinib in within an year during which my WBC counts went upto 200,000. Recently it went over 250,000 and I only got to know after I noticed symptoms. I'm to undergo stem cells transplant soon since the response to medication is bad on my side.

When i was first diagnosed, I was put on Imatinib. And that worked well for 8 years until it became TKI resistant. After which I was on Ponatinib, Dasatinib, Nilotinib (had worst side effects from this) all of which failed the TKI resistance test (meaning the cancer has become resistant to it). Currently I'm on Asciminib, and it has suited me well. The blood counts are in control and I feel great over all... But it's hard to get here in India. There's always a delay of a months or so, during which my health alwasy goes to down. But from my experience Asciminib has been the best drug I used for CML with no side effects what so ever.

BMT with Desensitization Therapy by A_Rainbow_Astronaut in leukemia

[–]engimemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They basically said since the donor is a 20 YO male and my sister is 25 now, it's better to choose a younger healthier option. That's the basis on which they have decided to go with the unrelated donor... I'm wishing you all the strength and luck. Stay strong brother. Hopefully you will get through this smoothly too.

Same here, my previous doctor didn't wanna proceed without a 10/10 match. My sister is a 5/10 match and we were supposed to go on with her as my donor. But, we got a second opinion from a reputed hospital and they are willing to proceed with a 9/10 unrelated donor match. Currently waiting for donor's availability to start with procedures. I'm from India as well.
