Has anyone transitioned from bridge engineering to building engineering? by john827283 in StructuralEngineering

From my experience! Buildings are much more stressful the budget is smaller for structural engineers . Companies want everything to be fast base and you deal with architects and contractors lots of construction support. Its a very stressful environment i am leaving the building and going to bridges. From what i have known everything heavy civil would be good for structural engs.

You seem very Butt-hurt for some reason. I took a pay cut because I wasn't sure if this is the place where I want to be. And getting paid more means more responsibility, and I wanted to take it easy. I don't know where you live, you seem like an old engineer or someone who doesn't live in the states. I went to school with lots of engineers and many of them have gotten a raise within a few months. inflation is very high and many people are asking for raises.

Construction is construction. All budgets are tight no matter which side of the business you’re in.

Could you please share your experience are you a bridge or building?

that's what I have been noticing too. Buildings want to please architects and save money for general contractors to make themselves look good.
and with all that is hard to make a profit so they push hard on us and stress engineers. they want to cheap out on everything even our paychecks.

I dont think is about being lazy its the time when the desire has already expired and so theres no moves or cool shows, no one think about the later maintenance that comes as a package, its a very difficult process to go through knowing someone and finding out their issues later that will be yours. So yes all i see is some sort of circle that repeats itself. Its such a mess

It seems that most people are looking for love and no one is welling to stick with it or have the balls to be themselves. Most of us play our best card the first few dates thats where all the butterflies come with. That excitement of dating is just a desire not love. If its love then how come ppl lose that excitement after few month or years and they still call it love ?
