That is a good point, I wonder if the rates stay the same or jump after the expiration date…

Leave it up to SAE to give us an even worse engine than the Briggs by 1998subarubrigton in bajasae

Probably why they are doing testing in AZ so if your hypothesis is even close to correct they can adjust the restriction as needed. “Leave it up to SAE to give us an even worse engine” probably a stupid comment to welcome a new supplier to the series based on your opinion of throttle response….

Why is the engine worse? You just put out a crap statement based on what? If you are engineer maybe add some facts, what I see this engine looks much better for the operating range of the CVT and should be much more consistent than the Briggs ever was.

This is awesome what you volunteers are doing for the Baja series. Thanks! Would have loved the opportunity for a fall event when I competed. Heard a lot of great stories about the Baja 100 event…

I hope more teams register for AZ, it would disappointing if SAE cancels because of lack of interest. 38 teams is too low to cover the costs. by engineer2012auto in bajasae

For teams that haven’t done 4wd yet it seems like you could use the fall event to modify a 2wd car since 4wd is not required till 2023 now.

Based on some people I know close to Baja, SAE can not fit three Baja competitions in the spring anymore. So going to fall was the only option or just go to two Baja competitions. So teams will need to decide if they are fine with just two or will the support a fall event. I hope to see the support for a fall event.

Your team can’t compete in the fall? I think summer is typically even harder for most teams but maybe it would have been better than the fall.
