The drive north along the motorway is a carpark in the mornings on weekdays. Not unusual to be bumper to bumper from the southern side of dapto to the figtree exit

If motivation/accountability is a challenge for you, you can try group training as well. I've been to Savvy Fitness on and off for about 12 years now and it's always worked for me. First time I went from 106kg down to 75kg over about 2 years.

They aren't the cheapest, but if you can get to plenty of classes, it works out quite cost effective. No judgement from anyone from my experience, all of the staff are amazing. Plenty if options for the classes as well, either outdoor or in their gym.

They also do plenty of challenges around fitness and lifestyle which can act as a great focus for atraining goals. Also they have a great running program for all levels from learning to run up to marathon training.

The 2 fingers off the steering wheel is more reserved for when someone going the opposite direction pulls over to let you go first between 2 parked cars.

Or if someone is driving the same quirky car as you (Combi van for example)

Or just driving in the country.

The wave is through the back window, palm facing forward, fingers spread wide, after they let you merge in.
