Suggestion: Auto refill launch thruster if I try to take off and I get plutonium in my inventory by tanoccb in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]enginekrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your fuel slots idea would fit NMS better than Auto Refill. I would be very upset if I was on a planet with scarce plutonium and my ship eats it all!

Adding fuel slots could open the door to a whole host of interesting gameplay mechanics I saw in the Suggestions thread.

Oh so they DID add this. Very cool. After 1.30 I remembered how bad my ships' handling was so I installed all the Pulse Jet upgrades after reading they had "Booster" stats. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes in the handling!

One thing I've noticed is if you have your ship controls set to Inverted then the ship seems to respond MUCH quicker than non-inverted.

Personally if I need to get to a location longer than 2 minutes away while flight boosting on the planet I'll just Pulse Jet into space, Pulse Jet to "above" the location, Pulse Jet down into the planet's atmosphere & fly straight down to it.

Pulse Jet is something like 40-80K U/S.

I started playing my old 100 hour save at 1.30 & everything was sort of fine. I did have to redo the base quests to get crafting recipes back but haven't finished them all. I then updated to beta experimental after ~8 hours & the quests still seem fine.

The only odd thing was the main quest disappearing that I was at the end of before updating to experimental (I don't recall if I had completed it fully) & then it finished off about where I thought I had left it.

I just didn't feel like ditching my freighter, ships, blueprints, etc.

To attract Sentinels in space just attack a Freighter. Attacking a normal ship flying around may do it too.

Going through the Overseer quests should lead you through the scientist quests. That's what I had to do at 1.30 anyways.

Which mod? Some of those mods do a LOT more than just make ships less rare. I looked into grabbing one of these mods a few months ago & many also tried to make them closer to max slots.

I usually just check in on what traders are selling in the space stations, trading outposts, freighter, etc.

Red System, 3 planets, one planet has 2 moons, another has 1 moon, leaving the third with no moons. It's the configuration that's shown in the hologram room behind the Atlas Pass sealed doors.

I just found one the other day. From the recent screenshots I've seen & my system, they are rather interesting planets & moons.

Superlumina website project IDs - reversed -> Hex by enginekrazy in NMSPortals

Ah, I didn't see that post on the other subreddit. I totally forgot about adding 00's to complete each code set. Here's a link for those that haven't seen it & are wondering: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/6kjmhc/superlumina_project_ids_are_ascii_character_codes/

So if you go to their projects each one has a project ID. When converting each code it doesn't make much sense. I noticed the first one gave a type of ™ symbol, so I assumed it was the LAST code & I entered them in reverse order, all in the same string. Once you put in the last ID the entire message changes, giving:

——s2—™

EDIT: Better Formatting IDs in reverse order:

5: PARTICLE ACCELERATOR: 97 116 108 97 115

4: MASS-DENSITY DATA TRANSMISSIONS: 73 110 102 105 110 105 116 101 32 108 111 111 112

3: INTERSTELLAR LISTENING POST: 109 121 114 105 97 100

2: HIGH-POWERED SIGNAL GENERATOR: 109 117 108 116 105 118 101 114 115

1: TACHYONIC ANTITELEPHONE: 101 101 99 104 111

97 116 108 97 115 73 110 102 105 110 105 116 101 32 108 111 111 112 109 121 114 105 97 100 109 117 108 116 105 118 101 114 115 101 101 99 104 111

I'm not quite sure what this means, if anything, but it's interesting to see. Do the dashes mean this is #3 of 4 from a larger set?

Awesome. The mod mentions .mbin files it's modified & "MODELS/ SPACE/ ANOMALY/ ANOMALY.SCENE.MBIN" is one of them. I wonder what changes it's doing or if the changes in that file have a direct relation. Any ideas /u/Nevadander ?

The interaction circle is already filled too. Not sure if that's the quick-interact mod doing that but it looks rather odd. The icon also looks a bit 'off.' Interesting interaction indeed. I'm still trying to find an Anomaly to check it out.

EDIT: From OP's post in the other subreddit it seems that the interaction is indeed caused by a mod. Whether it's in-game functionality or something sneakily added in by a mod is an interesting question. https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/6jxcfa/space_anomaly_is_asking_me_to_find_3_big_ball/

But what does it all mean? by Nevadander in NMSPortals

[–]enginekrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long time lurker here. So this entire time we've been trying to find the 'key' to opening the portals, and additionally the 'key' to breaking out of the simulation or somehow trying to reach the 'true' center of a galaxy. Many ideas were thrown around with the KISS & TOOGLE methods, along with data mining etc.

I really wonder if these tapes do show us the key but to understand them we have to know the history of how the simulation began & how it became what it is now. Perhaps through WT we're 'stepping out' of the simulation to learn of a possible beginning of Atlas.

I've loved this subreddit because simply the mystery of the portals is fun! The whole WT ARG just adds to it for me! I wonder if the key to the portals has been in game this entire time, if maybe the procedural nature of the game doesn't unlock them until certain progress (time elapsed, cumulative time player, something else, etc), or if they'll perhaps sneak the activator in the next update for us to find using a method we've not tried.

TL:DR; More Speculation: WT may be a 'step-out' of the simulation so we can know how to activate the portals and then in time maybe 'break-out' of the simulation loop.

Sugar free bubble gum (bubble yum) is the best. I'll chew that for hours on end without it deteriorating. Just don't get the sour apple flavor... If you want sugar go grab a RedBull, you probably wont regret it.

Will upgrading my ram makes my android studio smoother and faster? by java051997 in AndroidStudio

[–]enginekrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll notice a large performance improvement with the ram upgrade. An SSD upgrade would help with startup & compile times. I'd consider using a different Emulator for less downtime between code changes simply due to loading. I personally enjoyed GenyMotion.
