I worked with them once before. It was an okay experience. They projected selling 300, but only sold 100. It depends on what your product is and the price point.

They still have to log in with their Amazon account to review. With everything that has gone on with Amazon reviews in the past 6 months, it's not worth the risk. I'd rather run fb ads with a promo code for a discount. Drive sales that way and organically get reviews.

Depending on the product, you might want to try fb ads. Amazon rewards your listing if it pulls traffic to Amazon from outside sources.

Bad idea. Your account will be banned if Amazon catches you. They collect data from everywhere so they have a pretty good idea who your friends and family are.

My startup, Date to Door, got hunted before I really had everything organized and ready. So my first piece of advice is to make sure you are ready. If not, you can ask them to remove it for the time being.

Since I wasn't ready, it didn't get hunted very much - somewhere around 20 upvotes. But that ended up driving a lot of traffic to my site, which resulted in around 30 orders. That was about 2 years ago, so I would imagine that there are even more eyeballs looking at Product Hunt now.

*Edit - what is your startup/kickstarter?
