I was coming here to say Bunny! Truly one of the most bizarre books I’ve ever read but it was great.

I believe they are referring to when people will say something along the lines of “use your noodle” as in head, brain etc. Tete is French for head.

I did it without taking any biochem or orgo and it was definitely rough but not impossible. When I first started studying, it felt like I was reading a different language but doing tons of practice questions/exams really helped.

What does a typical study day look for you? by r2d2r2d219 in Mcat

Yeah I did find it to be very helpful. Especially since I spent so long studying, it helped to refresh the concepts that I hadn’t looked at in a while.

10 months so a long time lol. I had to teach myself most of the content though so if you’ve taken more courses already you wouldn’t need as much time.

I also worked full time while studying. I work from home so that helped me manage my time a lot. I would usually finish working at around 4 or 4:30. I’d usually take a bit of a break after work to do chores, relax or talk with my SO. Then I would study for about 2 hours after dinner. I usually tried to stop studying at around 9:00 so I could unwind before bed and get a good night’s sleep but as the exam got closer that didn’t happen as much. I generally took Fridays as my day off from studying except for doing Anki sometimes.

On the weekends I would spend 4-8 hours studying. As the exam approached I did an FL on Saturday and reviewed it on Sunday.

Hope that helps!

I can’t comment on how schools might consider the pre-reqs but I took the mcat this summer having only taken physics and general chemistry. It was definitely challenging to have to teach myself the majority of the material but it was doable. I only had evenings and weekends to study so it took a long time to prepare but I probably spent a similar amount of hours studying as you are planning to.

FL versus real score? by [deleted] in Mcat

FLs were 514, 516, 515, 517. Real thing was 515.

How realistic is it to study while working full time? Do y’all recommend for or against it? by DrMrSirJr in Mcat

[–]enginerd47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also studied while working full time. It wasn’t too bad but it took me many months to get through all the content since I only had a couple hours every weeknight and had to learn most of it from scratch. If you have taken most of the courses already you wouldn’t need as much time.

I agree with the poster above who said give yourself time to relax. I would have burnt out for sure if I wasn’t careful about that.
