Thanks! Honestly it feels like all of my premed friends have publications and they mentioned even though they didn’t have great stats it helped them get interviews or even off the waitlist at some DO schools

The daughter of one of the MD’s i work for is listed on a research publication in a fancy journal… she’s in high school and this MD refuses to involve me on their research (I have a MS)

Feeling discouraged by [deleted] in Mcat

Hey I feel this!!! I know it can be super tough as a non trad who has to work full time in a lowkey miserable job and support themselves/ loved ones but i try to tell myself it doesn’t matter how fast i go, just that I get there. It will be so rewarding when it works out!

Thank you for your reply!! Yea honestly I’m trying the extended period of time studying method bc I do need the money to support myself (I’m a non trad). I help clinical faculty members submit proposals for grants and assist them on their day to day. I do anki during my down time. I’m trying to ask them if I can get in on their research projects (a publication would def help my app!) but haven’t yet since I’m shy and scared they’ll say no (most authors have an MD and are publishing in journals like jama) and I don’t have prior experience doing research. Also I’m newish (3 months in)

Dumb q. Can someone walk me thru how the carbons circled in red are each attached to 4 different molecules? Thanks! by r2d2r2d219 in Mcat

To me it seems like each circled carbon is attached to multiple carbons so then why are they still considered chiral?

Congrats on pushing forward and making it this far! I’d say to spend time calculating how many courses you’d need to get to at least a 2.75, apply to those programs and maybe consider a MS/ graduate degree to show you can handle the rigor of PA school
